A Louisiana gem! Stepping through the door of this establishment built in 1812, we were greeted by the owner as if long lost family. Fine cooking at fair prices, we enjoyed healthy food for those who wanted it and truly authentic Cajun catfish for the rest. Don't miss this! PS - and if she's whipped up a cobbler for the day, you CERTAINLY don't want to miss that!

Great area Restaurant! We had the pork barbecue special with baked beans, potato salad, and rice. Topped it off with homemade butter pecan cake. Oooooeeee! It was excellent! Great service and music.

Went try out Old Courtableau Cafe tonight for the first time. It will be the last time. The food was good, the service is the worst I have had in any restaurant. When our food finally arrived one of the people in our party didn’t receive his boiled shrimp. The waitress told him it would be right out. Twenty five minutes later still no shrimp. His wife shared her food with him because he was hungry and still no shrimp. By the time the shrimp did make it to our table he was full and upset because of the lack of service. When he refused his food the waitress was visible upset and had an attitude. When we arrived there were two tables that had customers, it was not a packed house. Nonetheless they couldn’t get our food out in a timely manner. The owners wife was there and told that they were doing their best. The attitude was about the worst I have ever seen by any owner. As we were eating our meal, at about 7:45 they turned off the lights on half of the restaurant, so rude. Our experience was terrible. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The reason we went was because one of my wife’s coworkers recommended it. Save your time and money and go...

Arrived at 6:18 pm and left at 7:30 without any food. Most tables around us arrived and ordered after us, but still received their orders before us. No word from the waitress as to the eta of our meals. David Allemond, the owner was never made aware until we were walking out of the door. As a St Landry Parish native and restauranteur , I would love to see this concept succeed, but this level of service will doom the Old Courtableau Cafe to a...
