Read moreI wish I could give this truck a better rating, since others seem to enjoy it and I believe the truck might be associated with the nearby restaurant of the same name, which I had a decent experience at recently.
However, the first time I tried to go here, they were shut down and pulling out of the parking lot a full hour before "closing". The next time I went just a few days later, I ended up waiting a really long time for my food and it was just gross.
I got a burrito and the beans and meat inside were dried out and I could tell no love was put into the food at all. It tasted oily and dry/burnt at the same time. Service wasn't much better. Seemed like I was annoying them by being there to purchase food.
The salsas had a lot of flavor, but would be way too hot for most people to enjoy. After my wife agreed to how gross the burrito was, I ended up scrapping it and grabbing food for us somewhere else.
It was clear from the service and the quality of food that they just don't care at this location. Maybe if I was Mexican I would have received better food and/or service? Unfortunately, I don't plan to go back any time soon to find out.
The only saving grace? The horchata was excellent, ha ha! If I do go back, it will probably be for the horchata,...
Read moreI have been going here for about 6 years now but my last few visits may truly be my last.
On the most recent visit, we recognized that the prices had increased, significantly. With the pandemic, we understand that it is a necessity and I was happy to pay the price as I have always loved my experience here. This was not the case this time. First and foremost, the toppings were scarce, not the protein but the greens, onions, and the lime (was so dry and they didn’t produce any juice) second, they put the incorrect protein in the tacos. (Asked for carnitas, received Asada) and finally, the tamale that was ordered was half the size it normally was. We typically make tamales but would get these in between big tamale making days. It was dry, had little protein and was so small it was the equivalent of 2 bites.
I’m just disappointed that the quality has gone down while the prices have increased.
I don’t believe that my overall experience earns this place one star, but I don’t want to provide more than 3 as they just aren’t as amazing as they’ve always been. I hope that things turn around for the better as this is the only taco truck within 15...
