Delicious authentic Cemitas sandwiches bursting with flavor! The small pick-up window is tucked right next to the Service Bar - it's take-out only. Worth the trek from McLean!
Vegetarian eggplant Cemita (5/5) - One of the best sandwiches I've had! the scrumptious sandwich has a layer of crispy eggplant, melty oaxaca cheese, avocado, lettuce, onion, spicy aioli and pressed in a panini style sesame bun. While it sounds like a hodgepodge of ingredients, they work really well together with a spicy kick that's not too overpowering. Best of all? The sandwich is not messy and the toppings don't fall out!
My hubby enjoyed his DIY meaty steak carne tacos. It was hard to get the ratio of meat and garnishes right, so recommend just getting them preassembled!
The Aqua Frescos are fun to try! The creamy Horchata is like Rumchata, a cinnamon milky punch without the alcohol! It was too sweet and rich to drink on it own, and better as creamer for my coffee. The sweet Aqua Jamaica Hibiscus tastes like pomegranate juice and pairs really well with gin!
The Spicy Margarita has quite a kick!
I wasn't a big fan of the guac and chips. The chips don't taste fresh or homemade and the guac is super spicy.
Excited to come back for another...

Situated in the bustling heart of DC, this Mexican takeout/delivery restaurant is a true culinary gem that offers an unbeatable combination of high-quality, well-priced dishes, packed with vibrant flavors that transport you straight to the sun-soaked streets of Mexico.
The homemade tortillas, pillowy-soft with a hint of corn sweetness, deserve a special mention, as does the exquisite array of salsas and condiments which elevate each dish from fantastic to unforgettable.
To summarize, Taqueria Xochi is more than just a restaurant - it's a gateway to a rich and diverse culinary culture. It's a place that brings the flavor, heart, and soul of Mexico to DC, one delicious dish at a time. Whether youβre a lover of Mexican cuisine or a curious foodie, I cannot recommend Taqueria Xochi enough. It's a five-star fiesta of flavor that never...

The tortillas were flavorless, the onions were cut long ways, so not sure how you can call yourself authentic and then not even cut the onions right. My gripe isn't the cut but that they were somehow simultaneously, soggy/slippery and crunchy with no flavor. The meat tasted like it was only salted and boiled, no cilantro.
then only reason why I'm writing this review is because of my outrage over both the price and quality. I've had plenty of bad tacos before and never leave reviews but never this expensive. You can't be both terrible and also ridiculously expensive, it was almost $20 for 3 tacos. I'm going to have to recook and re season everything in order to not waste it. Since it was takeout only I was too far for me to go back and return them.
Its pick up only, not sit down which was why I rated atmosphere the way i did since you can't really rate...
