Just in town for work. Stopped in and Julie met me on my stride inside, as I was examining the classic weathered bar top and tables. After looking at the menu the Cheesy spicy philly steak caught my attention right away. Julie suggested the French Onion soup and I tried that. Omg I have had a lot of French Onion soups and philly's but the best is here. The soup wasn't all base, but had huge layers or crispy bread and the cup was actually covered with the perfect provolone cheese melting down the cup. It was the best I ever had. The cheese steak had that canned cheese as well as provolone with perfectly cooked steak! Not soggy at all but hot and fresh! No soggy roll here because they made it traditionally correct. Cheese melted on roll to keep the juices from soaking in! Fluffy centered bun with a sharp satisfyingly crack of crisp with every bite. Over all perfect visit for a man who works to much and was looking to relax. Good price, great service, and delicious food! Try it! I wish I lived closer.

This was my 1st time here and it was my Birthday. I upgraded my 6oz Ranch Steak to the 10oz Prime Rib Steak with mushrooms and Baked Potato with butter, bacon, sour cream and cheddar cheese. It came with garlic bread and choice of salad or soup of the day. I choose Clam Chowder but it was to small a cup for the price. I would have liked a bowl of it instead. But I did get my steak medium rare and was perfect. The mushrooms were a great touch, as was the A1 sauce. The baked potato was awesome too. I would definitely recommend the Swinging Doors for an adult place to go as itis a bar and serves alcohol. I choose Mellow Yellow for my drink though. :-)

My first time here, I only went solely for the appetizers. We had the biggest mozzarella sticks I ever seen, too bad four of them still wasn't enough for nine dollars. This place redeemed itself for what I had next, their nacho. One of the best nachos I ever had, well worth $15.00. I wouldn't even call it an appetizer. Waitress got us everything we wanted and was there for us whenever we needed her, I hope the tip we put made her night. The atmosphere was as simple as you can possibly get, classic American sport bar, and somehow the place still felt unique. I will definitely come back again, but for the entrees this time.

UPDATE 5-13: We finally had the opportunity to use the gift card Lisa sent.

Our meals were very good this time around, as was the service. My steak was cooked to my specifications (all the way through) and my wife's chicken tenders were just that- tender, with the right amount of spices in the breading.

Our server made some suggestions to save a little money, which is always welcome.

Our experience this time earned a couple of more stars back. When a business asks for a second chance, and then delivers what customers expect, it shows me that they really do care about their service and the products they purvey. I'm glad they stepped up and lived up to the reutation they have. This family-owned business proved to me that their customer's opinions matter.

UPDATE 3-15: I called and spoke to Lisa, one of the managers. She apologized for the poor experience, and said she spoke to our server about it. She offered to mail a gift card, which I just received.

Lisa's willingness to hear me out and to try and make it right was highly appreciated- and has earned another star. I really hope our make-up experience does this family-owned business justice.

2-26: We went here last night for my birthday- what an expensive disappointment!!!

My wife's meal was more breading than shrimp and didn't even taste like shrimp.

My free steak dinner wasn't cooked properly, and every time I tried to tell our servers they walked away as soon as I tried to say something (this happened at least 3 times)- and they weren't super busy, either. The small half of my steak was cooked the way I ordered it (well done), but the larger half was maybe cooked medium. It wasn't hot- in fact, it was barely warm.

At least our drinks- the Millionaire's Coffee at $9 each- were pretty good. Speaking of, the servers sure didn't mind trying to get us to drink more.

We spent $64 on an appetizer, two pathetic dinners, and 4 drinks- we'd have had a much better meal for the money had we gone elsewhere.

If I could rate ZERO stars if I could, but in order to post a review a rating of at least one star must be given.

We recommend that folks spend their money elsewhere. In fact, our meals were so poor that I'm tempted to go back and try to get my wife's meal refunded- I'm just not sure if it's worth the gas and the stress. I'd ask the same for my meal except...

Usually go here 3 or more times a week, tonight we changed our minds about sitting inside and decided to have a few drinks on the patio. The waitress brings us our drinks and asks us if one of us has a card to start a tab (we had cash) we say no and she follows up her question with a lot of "hmmm, are you sure? Nobody?? Hmmm?" We were all taken by surprise as none of the other waitresses had ever asked us to open a tab with a card...so we asked when she returned, "is there a reason we need to start a tab?" She answers "well I can't keep my eyes on everyone out here" ... So she is implying that we are going to steal or jump the bill from the patio? Mind you there's like a six foot spiked fence and a locked gate behind another party...and my boyfriend and I are not exactly the sporty type. After we told her we were offended by her question she assured us the others had started a tab earlier and to not be offended...then the rest of the time she was short, rude and only took half our parties order before running back inside. We still tipped her because we love this place, but we really felt she only asked us to start a tab because of the way we looked. Perhaps you should remind the waitresses here that hard work comes in all shape size and color and people will surprise you despite what they look like. I hope she changes her thinking and holds her tongue to others next time they wish to eat on the...

Normally when we come here, it is amazing food, service, and fun. Tonight the service was such a disappointment. It was the anniversary of the death of my friend's mother. After one round of drinks and an appetizer, it had been an hour and a half. I wanted 3 more meals, a salad, a buttload more alcohol and some bread pudding. When ordering our appetizer, we asked her to come back and take our food order but she tried to talk us out of getting anymore food because the nachos are so big. Once we got our nachos, she never came back. We ate our nachos and sat there for 10 min watching her walk past us. My boyfriend even went to the bar to get another drink, waving money and still never got another drink! The waitress serving the table next to us, ended up asking if we needed anything, at that point, we just decided to leave. After awhile longer, our waitress came by so we asked for a manager who offered a discount. We tipped the other waitress, and left. I was looking forward to having a great night watching the game and knew I would be spending a lot of money. We ended up going to McDonalds for my son and the adults came home and had meatloaf that was supposed to be for meatloaf sandwiches for tomorrow's Easter lunch. So so...
