I went to Uncle Dave's a few years ago and was so much less than impressed. However, I recently returned for a fantastic dining experience. I tried to update my previous review, but I am not that "Google Savy" yet, I guess I get a bad review for that. Getting back on topic, arriving at Uncle Daves I was given a warm greeting by two very nice waitstaff. The restaurant was quite large, split into two sections, divided in the center by an island that had a counter service and where the coffee pots etc. are. Atmosphere was clean and organized, and attempt by a golf enthusiast was the theme of the decor. There was an old-time hometown feel as locals were greeted by name and inquiries about family members were overheard more than once. Veterans wearing their military ball caps expressed their opinions about politics, gas prices and taxes. The vibe was friendly and very Mayberryish and this made me want to linger in my booth a good long time just to soak up the comfort of the feel of the community that surrounded me and that I miss in this plastic rush rush world. Coffee was served up quickly and it was good quality coffee. I am an EXTREME Coffee Snob, sad to admit that but that is my albatross to carry. The menu is extensive, and I deliberated on my choice for a good long time. Not surprisingly, biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage links was the selection. I asked the waitress what her recommendation was with sausages and she recommended the links. Spoiler alert, no regrets whatsoever. So happy I ordered this - So sad I ate it all. Admittedly I don't eat a lot at one sitting but I graze throughout the day. I lost self-control with the gi-normous (aka really big, giant + enormous) flakey biscuits and savory sausage gravy supplemented by the exceptional sausage links. Refills on the coffee were plentiful, and I did not hesitate. I did not walk away hungry. It was a wonderful experience, and I sincerely appreciate the waitstaff and all the back of the store support. When I need to walk back in time and find good atmosphere, friendly service, a very good meal and a fair price I know where I will be, at Uncle Dave's

This is a hard review because I usually rave about Uncle Dave's because it is a great place that is well lit and the servers are usually on point with a fast kitchen. That being said, Son and I arrived at 7:40 to a busy atmosphere and only one server. We had time before school so a little wait was not a problem. We were seated quickly and the server was fast to get our drink order. Within 10 minutes we had our meals placed, and a large group of 8 people were seated next to us. After 40 minutes our food did not come out and all the people at the large table had food and were content. We had been at our spot for long enough our server asked if we were ready for the check to which I replied "we'd like to eat first" It turned out the server and kitchen prioritized the larger group and had forgotten about our order. The server stated mistakes happen, which i could forgive if she had stopped by the table one time after taking our meal order to check on us and refill our drinks. I think this could have all been avoided with some normal check-ins at the table. Frustratingly i did not catch the issue until it was too late. I will say that not once did the servers ask how we were doing and focused on the larger table as the servers were constantly moving past us, so it wasn't a lack of visibility. Once the issue was identified we were out of time to eat and had to get my son to school. The server scrambled to make some toast and a pancake for my son, which was not what he ordered, and I informed them we would not be paying for the random pancake and toast. Did not get to rate the food, because it never arrived.

Came on a windy day. The waitress, who was nice, explained that it'll be a 45 minute wait due to power outages from the wind. I was fine with that, and I ordered a breakfast burrito and a coffee. When I finally get my burrito, I notice a hair in it. I showed the waitress and pulled it out in front of her. It was a good 5-7 inches long embedded IN THE BURRITO. So she takes the burrito back and tells the kitchen to "refire" it.... it took less than 5 minutes and supposedly a whole new burrito was cooked. I'm 99% sure they took the hairy burrito, put it in a hot hold, and rang the bell after a couple minutes. So she brings the burrito and a receipt. I ate the burrito anyways because I was starving and I'm not super queasy about stuff like that. Burrito was meh. Another server brings me a receipt except its more expensive than my first one. Oh well, one had my coffee on it and one didn't. So since my server was already off I presume, I asked another server at the register if I could check out with her. She gave me a snarky "yeah I guess I could check you out here" when she clearly didn't want to. I work as a server and I check people out. It's your job. So i handed her both receipts. She chose the more expensive one. Didn't offer any apologies for the massive hair in the burrito. Didn't say anything, make eye contact, say thanks for coming in, bye, nothing. Just silently waits for me to write a tip. Mediocre food, rude servers, broken door, just all around bad experience. Never coming back. I attached a picture of the burrito with a hair in it before I pulled it out.

UNCLE DAVE'S CAFE is a mixture of good news and bad. THE GOOD NEWS: The menu covers a large selection of foods from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The prices are moderate for most items. Uncle Dave's Cafe specializes in biscuits and gravy. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy. Uncle Dave also includes a biscuit with some of their breakfast items like bacon and eggs and other items. You have a choice of hashbrowns or home fries. On the lunch meals, you can get onion rings. Personally, I love onion rings. The truth be told, Uncle Dave has the best that I have ever eaten. I was a party of eight. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. We had bacon and eggs, pancakes, chicken fried steak, BLT sandwich, omelet, hashbrowns, onion rings, and home fries. NON THE BAD NEWS Service. MY PARTY OF 8 SENIORS arrived at 22:30 P.M. There were only two customers in the entire place. My party went to the tables so that we could all be together. A waitress dropped off the menus on the end of the table and then walked away. My friends then passed them out to the rest of us. For ten minutes, I waited for the waitress to return. I could see her with two other employees just talking away. I raised my voice to get her attention, but either she didn't hear me or ignored me. I was getting up to go over to her when she returned. I told her separate tickets please, and she proceeded to take our drinks. As she went to get the drinks, I noticed that the long table only had a setting for four. So when the waitress returned, I pointed out that we needed more silverware. After handing out the drinks, she went and retrieved four more settings. She placed them on the table in a heap and walked off. Again, we had to put it together and hand them out to those who didn't have any. When the food was ready, a new waitress served the food. There was a bit of confusion because some of the food wasn't ready, and one item wasn't made as requested. The waitress did her best to make things right as quickly as possible, and we all appreciate her efforts. Once everyone received their meals, we really enjoyed the food and good conversation. I realized the second waitress had to deal with us seniors. But as I looked over the bill, I couldn't help but notice that I was charged for a 2x2x2 then $6.00 more for two more pancakes, all because I wanted four pancakes, bacon and eggs. This isn't what I saw on the menu. The waitress taking my order could have discussed the options before charging me. My group overall enjoyed their meals, but I am not happy with the service. It was slow and unprofessional. It must be a Port...

I wanted to call in an order for 3 breakfasts this morning. I was asked to hold for a minute in which I did. After 32.18 minutes of listening to the new girl tell everyone about her working, customers conversations and the other waitresses talking about every day stuff, Someone on the other end of the phone hung up on me. I called back only to get the new girl on the line. I asked to speak to the manager and after a short pause she came back on the phone to tell me the owners had left. Okay. THEN WHO'S IN CHARGE? I told her what had happened and she told me that it's been really busy. That's all I got. I know they were busy because I heard the last 32 minutes of customers leaving and coming in. They also had time though for convo between themselves as I sat on the phone. My order would of been over 50$. O well, i can't believe they just left me hanging. IS this the way the New Owners train their employee's? Is this what kind of service to expect in the future. Eating out is expensive these days. When I want to treat the family and spend my money, I want a good experience. Needless to say Uncle Dave's did not give me a good experience . In fact it made me not want to order from them any more. Yes. it was just a mistake on their side, putting me on hold for so long. Had they not hung up on me I might of still ordered from them. The attitude i got from the new girl though changed my mind. This was the same girl who asked me in the beginning if I could hold a minute. I held for 32 minutes.... that's 32 minutes I can't get back. SHAME ON YOU UNCLE DAVE'S! So I did the only thing I could do, I went to another local restaurant and spent my money there. I will not be back to Uncle Dave's and they won't be seeing my money. Word of mouth and Social media will determine the future of these...
