Mario's Pizza & Restaurant — Restaurant in Waterbury

Update.,. Ok today is 11/05/23. We ate inside for a change in their comfortable dining area. We ordered a medium thin crust, pizza with spinach and mushrooms and extra sauce and cheese and we requested that Mario make it for us . and as always it was a masterpiece. I had a cup of their famous pasta Fagioli soup and it couldn't get any better. I love this place ! They. make the best pizza in the state !!! We love Mario’s we’ve been going there now for maybe 8-9 years maybe more 🤔. I know Mario the pizza maker from Baccos in Waterbury and we come down from up north to see Mario tonight . I wanted to wish him a happy new year ..we got a pizza to go because I won’t eat inside any restaurants yet ...too afraid ..... we ordered some soup , pasta fagioli which they make it daily. so delicious it’s fabulous and we ordered pizza . ANYWAY the pizza was excellent !!!! I asked for Mario to make it (like I always do my best friend and I ) and we had a large pizza with spinach and mushrooms oh my God it was so much toping on there it was a really really great pizza you’ve outdone yourself Mario thank you so much ....Ciao !!! Went back today 12/31/2021to get a pizza to go made by Mario! Eggplant, spinach and mushrooms make an excellent thin crust pie .,.. thanks Mario ;). It’s now Mother’s Day 2022 my bff and I had a very filling and delish spinach and mushrooms pizza with half sausage for for my bff . Pie was absolutely amazing as usual. Thanks again Mario’s !it’s now 04/15/23 we went last night and ordered our usual pizza with salad, soup & A cannoli. Everything was excellent as always. I wish this restaurant was closer to my house ....

Was extremely disappointed with the entire experience. The waiter couldn't even give us the courtesy of looking us in the eye. I ordered a root beer, he brought me a diet coke. He brought us a small basket of bread which was subpar at best. My friend and I ordered the antipasto flatbread appetizer, and a pasta dish each. Took forever for the him to bring the appetizer, and it was hardly busy for a Saturday night. It was supposed to have pesto on it, but instead, it was drowned in a ridiculous amount of oil, and the sweetest, most wretch inducing balsamic ever. Not to mention the fact that the flatbread had less flavor than drywall. The sausage that was on top was still pink, and the presentation wasn't good. We tried finding him to at least tell him about the sausage, but after observing him sitting down and talking with another table, his complete disregard for anything at my table, and watching him be what seemed to be disgusted that we had the nerve to sit at a table in his section, we ended up finding the bus girl who gave me the correct soda about the appetizer, and cancel our order. We got up and walked next door to order Chinese food. Will never...

It will be awhile before I go and support Mario's again. My kids and I dined in, hostess and waitress were great. We placed our order. I guess (I didnt even know) they have a happy hour that ends at 6pm. It was a little before 6pm so when our waitress put in the pie order on the computer, she put it under happy hour. I didnt ask for that, she was doing what she thought was right. It was 5:45pm. The owner yelled at her about the time. He then told the pizza makers not to make the pie but did not tell the waitress to make it right in the computer. 2 of our dishes came and my youngest had nothing. At that point the other waitress comes over and tells us what happened. Of course, the owner has now stepped out and I cannot confront him. The owner has no clue what he is doing. The staff and other managers get dumped on but if they had an owner that backed them then it would be better. It was about 20 minutes when...
