The Eagle of Waterford — Restaurant in Waterford

What a wonderful and pleasant experience. On a whim I drove into Waterford to check out a spot from a local legend. Upon seeing this Resteraunt and "Hotel" in town, I decided to stop here for dinner. What a great decision. The person who seated me and the person who served me were courteous and super friendly. Inquired and asked quite a few questions about the building, which they happily answered. Asked a few more questions around the food then I normally do, to which the server was also extremely pleasant about answering. Wound up with the seafoor platter, dressing, baked beans. All were super tasty. The portions were... Large. Large enough I'll get 3 meals off it! The coleslaw was incredible, understood why both the people i chatted with suggested it, and, their homemade pie list was... Extensive. I wound up saving room for the fruit of the forest piece and had it heated up with some ice cream. Super delicious! Sometimes we make last minute choices and they sure do pay off. I wasn't planning on doing to much with my last day of vacation, but I sure am happy I made the choice to persue that local legend and stop at the Eagle "Hotel" for dinner. If you are anywhere near Waterford and are looking for a great experience stop here. Food was awesome. Service was great and the preservation of this incredibly historic building...

The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. We loved the restaurant when it was Sugar and Spice, but we like how refined the Eagle is now. It may be slightly better because it's less busy with the decor and more focused. The server was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The new owner came and spoke with us. We remember her from the old restaurant and she recognized us. She was very open to sharing her experience bringing the restaurant back to life after the abrupt closing by the previous owner. We had the broasted chicken, stuffed porkchop, and the baked cod. The sides were stuffing with gravy, coleslaw, mashed potatoes with gravy, french fries, onion petals, and...

Warmly greeted when we got there. Seated immediately. Waitress came for our drink order within minutes. Waitress brought our drinks and took our order. Wife had stuffed peppers & mashed potatoes & green beans they were very good. (Sauce could have had more Italian seasoning in it.) But all in all very good. I had grilled chicken breasts (very juicy & good flavor) with mashed potatoes & stuffing & a salad. (Stuffing could be improved a little ) Both meals were very delicious. Good portions.
