Dos amigos taqueria — Restaurant in Waterloo

We had heard good things about the tacos here, so we decided to pick up 20 tacos for a get-together we were having. Pulled in and all the doors were open, the place was completely open air, which was great. They've got these decorative chairs everywhere that have all been hand-carved out of wood, super cool. The tacos were around 4 bucks each, which is a little much. They were very good, don't get me wrong, but I needed 20 and usually if you go to a place like this, if you order 20 or more they'll cut you a little deal and take a bit off the price per taco. Not here. I move to make my order and the little lady at the register was not friendly at all; she was very stand-offish. The rest of the staff didn't have any smiles for me, and they didn't feel very friendly. I did notice the staff being friendly with the hispanic folks in the restaurant, but I am very white and maybe that's what it was. I also needed to get queso, so I asked for some and was told by the register lady that I have to get the chips and queso together or she was not allowed to sell me any. Chips and queso together were over 7 bucks, this also felt unreasonable to me. I needed the queso, so I bought the chips and queso deal. It was good, but not worth over 7 bucks. They also have a liquor license and a little bar off to the side; this is probably a great place to come in the summer time to get buzzed, especially when you're local and can walk home.

The food was seasoned pretty good, and tasted better than I expected, only thing I didnt like was the beans were way to runny, and the rice really didnt have much flavor. The Pastor,Asada & chorizo were all good flavor, the enchiladas were semi decent. Vary good Horchata tho. Overall its decemt for a place for waterloo. Ill prolly go back and try taco tuesday soon. Nothing I would return to. No chips and salsa offered with a dine in meal? Flies all over everything at the bar including the lime slices and other open items. The communal help yourself ice scooper laying right in the ice is rather disgusting. Chicken fajitas were average at best. Anyone thinking this is great Mexican food is deprived.
