Subway — Restaurant in Waterloo

Everyone knows that the Waterloo Subway is the only "fast food" stop I town. If they had ANY competition, they would be out of business! They are slow, not friendly, very greedy with toppings and the place isn't kept real clean. Tonight, we stopped before a meeting and got 2 sandwiches (only to save time). We would have been better off getting a ham sandwich from the gas station. The meat was nearly frozen, the sweet onion sauce was put on in 2 thin lines, the lettuce was almost arranged to cover the bread in one thin layer like a jigsaw puzzle and the other vegetables were placed in a thin line down the center of the sandwich. I asked if that was all we get and the kids (they only have 2 there at any time and are always under 20 years old) just looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. We've had less than desirable visits before. But, this has made this our last visit to this location. Sad, we live less than a minute drive away and will be driving 15 minutes, to grab anything for a fast meal. They get one star, only for the lack of lower rating options. If you want a sandwich, go to Dollar General next door and buy lunch meat and bread. This will be much less disappointing and cheaper! This Subway lacks employees that have good customer service skills. I've only encountered one decent employee that didn't have a negative attitude and he was from another store! Good luck if you have a complaint, as there is never a manager around. One employee had people in the back room around July and his "friend" let an M-80 firecracker off in the store! They were out of half the things we asked for, employee was extremely rude and disrespectful when it came to us asking about things he didn’t want to cut up because he was getting ready to close. Mind you we’d been there 20 minutes prior to closing. With the attitude and disrespect we told him we’d go somewhere else. He gave us the managers number and when contacted the manager she was full of attitude as well. This is the second time we’ve gotten awful service at this store. We will NOT be returning!
