Horrible experience at the Logan Ave. McDonald's!!! We made a huge order at the drive thru and I only had a $100 to pay, the cashier at the window said he couldn't accept $50s or $100s, so we asked to speak to the manager. The manager was very rude about it and said that it was store policy, and pointed at a sign. I pointed out the "this note is legal tender for all debts, public and private", but he didn't care. He said we had to go get change. We went to the Kwik Star nearby and bought something to get change, and went back to McDonald's to pay for our order, of which, the manager had told my fiancé to come inside when we returned and he would take care of our order. The manager was very nasty to my fiancé and told the cashier to ring her up, and then, because it was a large order, the manager had to come back to enter his code in for the cashier anyway. The previous time we went to this McDonald's was great, but after this visit, we will be going elsewhere from now on. Terrible customer service! I get that places don't like to take large bills, and they only have so much in their regiser for change, but when you're practically spending the whole amount anyway, I don't see what it matters. I have worked in retail and food industry for years and they make safe drops, they have pens and various other methods to check yo make sure currency is legit, of which it was a brand new, never even folded, $100, and out order was nearly that much as we were picking up for multiple people. It was a 20 minute wait for a couple McChickens and a 5 dollar meal deal bag. During this wait, multiple people went up to the (unmanned) cashier to ask for their food. One lady had been waiting nearly 30 minutes for a milkshake! The worker just said they were backed up and was very snippy with all the customers. She was very rude. I want to mention that it’s not busy at this location since I went in the late evening. For most of my time, there was nobody else in the restaurant, 1 door dasher, and maybe a car or two in the drive through. Finally, I got my food. They didn’t give me a cup and I had to ask for it. Later on, once I had driven away, I found the situation to worsen. They had forgotten my chicken nuggets. The fries were stale, the buns were hard, and the food was subpar at best. Read moreFirst of all they've always been the slowest McDonald's but now every single one in Waterloo and cedar falls are unbelievably slow and completely ridiculous. This one on Logan was horrible the other night. My fiance and I stopped there with the kids on our way home thinking it'd be faster than cooking at home and it was already going on eight o'clock pm, had just spent the evening at the park and on the trails, so the kids were whiny and hungry. We go inside,I order at the kiosk and it said to go to the checkout if paying with cash so I did just that, the employee at the register then tells me ok will call you or bring it out and walks away really fast, doesn't give me any drink cups until 15 min later after I ask for them and we waited about a good 45 minutes probably before I go ask where our order was and they had no clue what I was talking about because someone cleared our order due to the other employee telling me to just sit-down until I was called and not sending my order through... My kids were so upset and cried all...
