Farmer's Plate Hometown Cafe — Restaurant in Watertown

Let me start off with the positives. First the food quality is still phenomenal and the wait staff is very professional and courteous. Now on to the negatives. First issue is even though the wait staff is professional and courteous they lack promptness. When we sat our waitress was quick to take our drink and food orders however we needed a few minutes to look over the menu and decide which led to a 15 minute wait before she came back. Mind you it was not crazy busy and a long standing patron of the original R & B I know just how busy this place could be but even in the busiest of rushes it was never like this. Nextly once our order was placed it took over 20 minutes to receive our food and again the old R & B never took that long even with the busiest rush on Sunday in all actuality even on those days you would still receive your food within 5 to 10 minutes of placing your order. Nextly the other issue is the waitress never checked up on us to see if we needed refills on our drinks which we did and was sitting without drinks for over 15 minutes of which we had to flag her down just to get it resolved. That being said im still very happy with the quality of the food but the service really needs to step it up. I know there will be growing pains with néw owners however these wait times on food especially with it not being slammed busy is crazy along with wait staff needing to pay more attention to...

I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito with a side of hash browns. With my second bite, as the waitress was asking how everything was, something came out of my burrito between my teeth. I looked at it....apparently the cook forgot to take the paper off the cheese slices before cooking it. The waitress asked if she could make a new one or something else, but that ruined my appetite so I wanted the burrito off the bill since I didn't get a chance to eat it. My meal was $13.50, probably $10 for the burrito and $3.50 for the hash browns. When we got the bill, they only took off $3.50. We also saw a fruit fly floating in one of our water cups and we had to ask for silverware to eat our meal with after they had already delivered all the food. I would have considered giving them a better review or another shot had they handled the bill better, but I won't be going back. I'm a cook, so I know that if they're careless enough to send out a burrito with paper inside of it, they are violating so many other food safety...

So my wife and I and two of our friends went up there today (4th of July) to check out their BBQ dinner hours.. MAN! Was it good.. the brisket was so tender and flavorful, the BBQ sauce was great.. the Mac and Cheese was so good.. My wife and I got the Sampler plater + a side of Mac and Cheese and a side of Beans for under $50 Which was in my opinion a very reasonable price with Smoked Turkey,Brisket,Ribs,Pulled Pork We did not leave hungry..Its so great to have such a good home cooked, local owned restaurant like this here in town.. Even if he does get his food from...
