Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Waukee

This another great Georgia franchise and once again it's not nearly as good as locations in other states because they are doing things the Iowa way (The Iowa way means doing it halfway). Most of the time I get orders to go the chicken is rarely hot, they cheat you out of items you order almost everytime and they take much longer than locations in other states. This location is not as clean as most locations in other states and the chicken fingers are smaller. I have been overcharged 2 times and they have not been open that long. This place will not be around long. Georgia has some great Chicken franchises like Chick-fil-A , Slim Chickens and Zaxbys but if they do things the Iowa way they will not be as good. 3 times I was in they were washing the floors down with a hose and they were plating food at the same time and I have never...

We ordered online both times we tried. Their online ordering is very detailed and you get to see exactly what you ordered. Unfortunately, no one at the restaurant actually bothers to look at it. They messed up everyone’s sauce orders the first time we ordered from them, but the food was pretty good. This time I don’t think they even tried. You pay extra to have chicken strips “saucy” we did for 3 orders. They didn’t sauce anyone’s strips just included 10 dipping cups of ranch didn’t even give us dipping cups for the sauces we ordered. The wings order was sauced but not with the right one. It was sweet chili we are pretty sure instead of Korean BBQ. The wings were overcooked and dry. Fries, mushrooms, and salad were okay. We won’t be returning, there are plenty of quality local places...

Food was very underwhelming, I was expecting some crispy yummy SEASONED food.

I got some chicken tenders, fries and the oreo cheesecake jar.

The whipped cream has a chemical taste, it’s almost like the nasty whip cream at Kwik Star that is room temp safe (soo not real?)

The fries didn’t taste like anything, and neither did the chicken tenders. Very very bland food. The ranch however was very good, but I don’t think that you should have to rely on a sauce for the food to be good. The toast was plain too btw. Not awful food but not good food.
