Best restaurant when we come to Hurricane Mills for the annual Jeep event. I fell in love with their chicken Alfredo so it is a must go when we come to town. We went with some of our jeep crew about 8 of us. Our waitress I forgot her name. Petite blonde girl & she was absolutely the best. Not just saying this... She was awesome. Always had a smile on her face & hung rite in there with us with our funny picking. She got all our orders rite, got us what extra we needed & did not let us run out of drink... Not once. It was a crowded Saturday night. She also made me feel good & not like a freak as I sometimes feel. I have MS & can't handle much heat not that it was hot in there it just hits me out of the blue. So she saw me fanning with my hands and whispered across the table did I want her to bring me back a menu to fan. No one I mean no one has asked me this in the 5 years of dealing with heat intolance. I had also had to take steroids so that makes me extra with hot flashes. She like I said even like I whispered this as not making it be a scene as I always think people are looking at me. I have gotten over this for the most part. She was super sweet for this & I talked to my husband on the way back to our camper how sweet this way. Sometimes I have even had to get up & wait in ac car until our food came... So her asking this just made me feel good. So the food is amazing, the atmosphere is relaxing & Our waitress this night...
Read moreI've lived in Tennessee for most of my life and until today, have never been here. That apparently was a mistake on my part that I'm glad to have fixed. It was a spur of the moment decision that we all were glad of. The friendly hostess (sorry, didnt get her name), got us seated right away. Our attentive waitress Jaden was at the table within a minute. Ordered our drinks and looked over thr menu. Drinks returned and after a brief exam of the menu, we ordered. My wife ordered a vegetable plate, daughter got 2 appetizers - the cheese sticks and chicken tenders, and I got the chicken and dressing. We then waited for our lunch to arrive by doing the time honored tradition of looking at our phones. Approximately 15 minutes later (maybe longer, I didn't time) our food arrived. We dug in and it was delicious. I did have to put a little bit more salt and pepper on mine, but it was about halfway done at that point. Even my very picky daughter enjoyed her meal. Afterwards, we choose a couple of pies slices for my wife and I. Daughter got brownies. Those were to go. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Bad part is that it's a 1 hour 15 minute drive to get there and we don't have much need to go that direction. We'll go again, but not sure when.
I highly recommended if you are driving on I40 about meal time, stop by and pull up a chair and stay a while. Just make sure to loosen...
Read moreThe food was tasty, as it always is. Our server was disappointing. It took too long for us to be acknowledged after we were seated. After two tables were delivered their food, asked about dessert, refilled glasses, the server (who had been past us several times and never said a word) finally checked with the hostess to see if we were her table. We ordered our meal and dessert at the same time because they are well known for their pies. Yes, that's why we ordered it at the beginning, which turned out to be pointless as I later overheard her tell the adjacent table they had run out of coconut cream pie. This was at 3 in the afternoon and they don't close until 9:30, so I guess the supper folks were gonna have some slim pickings. Final takeaway- we've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food and the staff. This time was different. Food was still on par. Staff did a whole lot of chatting amongst themselves behind the counter (which we were seated in front of) and our server in particular just didn't seem too interested in doing her job. She forgot the rolls and bread after asking what kind we wanted, our glasses were near empty before being refilled and she just wasn't all that friendly. Maybe, after eating out in the Smokies the night before, our expectations were too high, but then again, the Log Cabin prices were...
