It seems like a fine establishment but I had an unfortunate experience in this place when tried to pick up food for customer, who placed order through one of the meal delivery services. I was told by receptionist to go to the back of the building and pick up food there. After walking around the building and passing poorly lit parking lot I did not notice any signage or the shelf/table where food could be picked up. I went inside through different door and inquired again about package for customer and was told again to go to the back of the building. While wondering outside not knowing what to do, the door near dumpster opened and angry man handed me the bag with the food and waved his hand and told me to go away. After I responded that I'm not a dog, please don't wave your hand at me, I was just confused about pick up location, he angerly responded that pick up location is clearly marked, and I shouldn't had to go to the kitchen 4 times. However, I entered building only twice because I was disoriented and couldn't see pick up location sign at night. Although I passed by this place many times, I had no idea where the food needs to be picked up. I have been delivering food some evening since 2018 and every food establishment has a clear signage directing you to pick up location especially now in the time of pandemic when many folks order food online. After getting my order and heading back to the car that man who identified himself as a general manager Mark, he yelled go-on, your customer is waiting! I replied that it's not a my customer it's our customer, who is waiting. After these worlds he became even more irritated and even threatened to call the police. I had to go indeed because their service was very slow and heated word-exchange on parking lot will not make food any warmer. But I do strongly believe that general manager needs a refresher about how to behave in service industry and perhaps he needs an anger management course. He creates a very bad image for what appears to be a nice restaurant that I visited with my family couple of times, however I will never go back...

Visited Coach Grill for the first time last evening with a party of ten Upon arrival we were offered free valet parking, I liked this service and the attendants we're very polite and helpful. The restaurant was crowded as was the bar but we were seated at our reserved table in no time.

As far as the atmosphere, I have to say this is the first time I have had the atmosphere ruin a meal. I am not a connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination and really don't go out to eat thinking about what the restaurant looks like. I just like good food and heard this was a good steak place.

The lighting at the table was so bad that you could not see your silverware much less the menu which was convieintly printed in 8 point font. Here's a clue to the owners. If you see entire tables of people with flashlights on their phones with your menu up to their faces you are doing something wrong.

The server was great and polite, I ordered the ten ounce filet mignon. When I realized there was no sides included, I quickly grabbed the menu and saw an item in the extras called coach something or other which had mashed potatoes asparagus and in the dim light thought was another vegetable.

What I didn't realize was that I had ordered an accompaniment that had blue cheese poured on top of the steak which totally overwhelmed the flavor of the entire meal. Now I am 60 years old but have good eyesight I do not wear glasses or readers but feeling kind of stupid I just ate the meal so as to not put off the rest of the dinner party. I realize that this was my mistake however I have to say the lighting in that place is the worst I've ever seen. There are spotlights coming out of the ceiling that blind you if you look up to talk to the person next to you yet somehow there is no light at all on the table except one small candle with a lampshade over it. I had a piece of steak off of my wife's plate and it was fantastic so I am sure that the food is good. If you plan to visit, I would suggest a magnifying glass and a flashlight.

Great service, great food, ambiance of a...

Went to The Coach Grill to celebrate my wife's retirement after 32 years of working. We were met by Kat (no C) and then Joe the "man" who makes the restaurant sing. He came first to me then my wife shaking our hands and wishing her a happy retirement. We were then escorted to our table where our Ice cold, Chilled Pino was waiting for us. Sean our waiter was fantastic from the start. He opened our wine, let it breath then poured for our tasting, excellent start. He wished my wife a happy retirement also, the evening just kept getting better. Nice hot homemade bread was delivered with sliced butter which melted nicely. My wife ordered a cup of Clam Chowder which was filled with plenty of clams and potatoes and piping hot, followed by her entree of Surf and Turf, Filet Mignon and Stuffed shrimp with crabmeat, with a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus. By the look on her face, she was enjoying her evening. I started with a fantastic bowl of french onion soup which had a beefy taste covered with nicely toasted cheese, Followed by a Caesar Salad with hand cut croutons. And the best part came, My main course of Prime Rib with a side of garlic mashed. Joe came to our table several timet to make sure my wife and our meals were up to our expectations and that Donnas night was memorbable, which she said it was. Sean kept the entree's at a nicely paced time not to fast as to enjoy the ambiance, each other and her retirement night. It hit on all areas. Our dessert was a huge piece of Abe and Louies Decadent Chocolate cake with ice cream. The kitchen staff did a great job on the prep of our food as it all came out tasty and hot. No one ever mentions the behind scenes staff and it is important to mention them. Kat, Joe and Sean wouldn't be able do their jobs if the kitchen staff didn't turnout quality. This restaurant consistently turns out the finest in meals and we love coming back for the friendly atmosphere, excellent service and quality of food. Thank you Joe,...

This restaurant has been a fixture on Route 20 in Wayland since the 1930’s (formerly known as the ‘Red Coach Grill’)! My fiance and I have driven by countless times and always say how we would love to stop in one day for a meal, well, we finally did and after dinner agreed this was easily one of the best meals we’ve had so far in 2024! The inside of the restaurant is so warm and welcoming with dark wood and leather throughout and when we were seated by the fireplace, that is attended to all night, we were introduced to our server, Andrea, who has worked at the Coach Grill for 23 years! She shared some of the lore of the restaurant and guided us through the menu pointing out popular dishes and her favorites, many that are original recipes (like the corn pudding, Andrea told us that people come just for that side dish!) Here’s a rundown of our order: - NEGRONI - gin, campari, vermouth - MAINE LUNCH IPA - CALAMARI MILANO - fried or grilled, garlic, parmesan, basil aioli (order this ‘grilled’ - the calamari and peppers are put in a grill basket over charcoal and it is a gamechanger, I may never order fried calamari again!) - BEEF WELLINGTON - filet mignon, mushroom duxelles, sauce périgueux - BONE-IN RIBEYE with GREEN BEANS and CORN PUDDING - CISCO BREWERS GREY LADY - PROFITEROLES - pate a choux puff, ice cream, chocolate sauce The servings were large and so delicious, we enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant and leftovers the next night! We were so relaxed sitting by the fire enjoying our drinks and food and already planning another visit. Coach Grill would be perfect for date night, a birthday celebration, or just a night you want a really great meal in a warm, cozy atmosphere!
