In the area training for the week. For dinner each day, I've been trying out the local recommended hole in the wall food joints. Pretty much all of the locals have said I need to get pizza and/or Italian food from Mario DiCarlos. So I get to the WV location (locals on either side of the river say it's the better one) and ask the waitress what she recommends. She said to try a slice of the regional favorite, an Ohio Valley style pizza. It has a thinner baked crust and a warm sauce, then the cheese and all of the other toppings are cold. Then it all clicked and I remembered hearing about Steubenville style pizza a few years ago. It's a big thing around these parts and they are proud of it! So I gave it a go and ordered a slice. I like hot pizza. I like cold pizza. Why not? Several other folks also suggested their meatball heel. Just order and go with it. So I did. Overall the food came out fantastic. The pizza was definitely different. The flavor was great and the contrast of the hot and cold added another element to it. The meatball heel turned out to be nearly a foot long loaf of Italian bread that was hollowed out and stuffed with meatballs the size of my fist and cheese. Fat man heaven! I brought most of it back with me. Good end to another long day.

Non handicap friendly no parking they use a drive through window that blocks the entrance And causes accidents daily on route 2 that in my opinion needs boarded up the waiting room is very small and has boxes stacked on the counter to the ceiling which reminds me of a episode of hoarders and their employees are rude to customers and about as unprofessional as it gets sadly the quality of the pizza reflects with very little consistency.

Exactly what do you have to do when you pay $61 for a tray of pizza to actually get it cooked. I would be ashamed to hand a pizza to someone like that. You have to cook it to eat it. Dicarlo' s your a complete joke. I guess when you go out of business it won't be a surprise. Total slop. It used to be good. I would give no stars if I could.

DiCarlo’s created this type of pizza and they’ve started a proud tradition of Ohio Valley Pizza. In my opinion our pizza is the absolute best. If not for Primo Dicarlo we wouldn’t have Giannamore’s, Rays’s, Bruno’s, Iggy’s (which used to be the absolute best when it was on PH in Steubenville), but now sucks in Toronto. DiCarlo’s is still the pioneer of this type of pizza. If you’re not from around here, you might not understand this pizza and worse yet you might not like it at all. The cheese and pepperoni is put on after the pizza is cooked allowing the cheese to just slightly melt after it is boxed and served. This is what we’re used to and this is what we love about “our” pizza. However, ever since DiCarlo’s has been selling franchises their quality has gone way done hill. I’ve eaten almost all local DiCarlo’s from Chester, WV. to Parkersburg. I ate DiCarlo’s when they had a shop in Glendale, AZ. (West Phoenix). And all other spin offs, which some are great and some are disgusting. Yeah I’m talking to you Halloran’s Pizza in St. Clairsville. Sauce shouldn’t be sweet-yuk! Wally’s pizza in Cambridge is actually okay but their crust is a little hard. Anyway back to my review. Yes, whoever the lady is that works at the downtown Weirton location, you are a B. I’ve read other reviews and they all say the same thing. You have an attitude problem and you need to be standing in the unemployment line. Maybe you should get a job as a collections agent, because that is the temperament you have. I’m sorry to annoy you ever time I want pizza. Geez I thought it was you job. Also ALL DiCarlo’s have now become hit or miss. The quality, I guess, is dependent on who his working on the day you order. So beware! You could get something Gorden Ramsey would be jealous of or you could get something that inmates would prefer jail bologna over, which is what I got today. I ordered 10 pieces, pulled up to the drive thru and they tried to charge me for 14. The guy said they wrote 14 on the box. They didn’t! I phoned in my order and they said, it would be ready in 15 minutes. I got there in 10. Three of of my pizzas literally had about 15 pieces of cheese each. I guess there was a ration on sauce because, well there hardly was any. And like I said I got there in 10 minutes, which I immediately attacked my pizza because I was starving. My pizza was cold, not warm, not hot, COLD! This is unsatisfactory. I want consistency and the only place I seem to get consistency is Giannamore’s in Wintersville. They’ve had like the same crew for over 30 years. Much respect to DiCarlo’s for what they started, but I’m sick of their workers attitude except for Adam & Tom at Weirton’s downtown location. And I’m sick of the inconsistency. Get your pride...

I'm quite disappointed. Skip this place & go to the location in elm grove..they are always "busy" when I order so the food is literally always fresh. They give you a number instead of taking your name so that when you arrive and give the number, they then, and only then, put it in a box for you, so it tastes amazing. I travel from Pittsburgh currently, and was trying to save some time by ordering form this location instead of the one in Elm Grove, since that's further for me. I should have not deviated from the routine. I got mine from here and the guy literally handed it to me saying "I don't know how good it will taste" since I called and placed an order 2 hours before I planned on picking it up, thinking it worked the same way the Elm Grove location did. I was very,...
