Huddle House — Restaurant in Weirton District

This Huddle House started out great when it opened, friendly staff, fast service, good food...then COVID happened and all the good help apparently left and this joint went downhill fast. The last few times we came here the service was extremely slow, despite there only being half the dining room open and only one to two other small parties there. Having anyone take our initial order took forever, and getting a drink refill was pretty much impossible. Food was OK but never fresh hot and you could tell some things like gravy, mashed potatoes, etc had sat in the window for some time, as the top would have a cold skim layer. It was near impossible to get a server's attention due to them being huddled in a corner talking and giggling or outside smoking, then bringing the smell back in on their clothes, which is off-putting in any business, much less when you're handling food. No one ever knew how to work the rewards program that they pushed in your face, and the bathrooms were closed or out of order the last three times we were there. The last, and final visit for us, we took our two children for dinner around 7 pm, one other couple in the dining room, we got our drinks after several minutes waiting and were told "I'll be right back to take your food order", we waited 25 minutes while she stood in the corner and giggled with the other servers, so we walked out and no one even acknowledged us. We will not be back, ever. This is disappointing because when they first opened we were breakfast regulars here and we loved it, now you could not pay me to give this Huddle House another chance, it's an absolute joke and should be closed down. It would be nice to have a restaurant with actual servers and not lazy, immature children pretending to work there. Get it together already. Maybe Waffle House will move into Weirton and have actual good food and...

Updated 5 Star Again: I just spoke with Melinda the District Manager and she is very nice and listens and cares about reviews. She personally assured me she was going to take care of my aforementioned hash brown problem. This renewed all of my faith in Huddle House and I look forward for feeding my Chocolate Chip pancake and hash brown addiction even further.

1 Star Update: I have been ordering from Huddle House relentlessly but I have a consistent problem with each visit. As always, their pancakes are perfect. HOWEVER, I always get a side of hash browns (2.86$, 3 times now for a total of about 9.14$ after tax) and I always receive a “2 bites” portion of cold and oily hash browns. It is actually the most disappointment I have felt towards a restaurant in a while especially with such amazing pancakes.

Fix the hash browns and I’ll fix the review! (Portion Picture attached. Keep in mind the price.)

Original 5 Star Update: I have never heard of Huddle House before. My Girlfriend and I wanted a quick breakfast today because we were both off work and wanted to watch some shows.

We ordered off of DoorDash, I chose DoorDash because I am also a Dasher, which is where I found this “Huddle House” under the “fastest near you” section.

I got the loaded equivalent of sausage biscuits and gravy and my girlfriend got waffles. Both were very delicious. I wasn’t very disappointed with price or portions. Both were as expected. What I got will be listed. I would wholeheartedly recommend!

We will likely be ordering from here again! P.S- The food came and for once appeared much more appetizing than the picture on the menu. I find that the actual picture didn’t look that good. Weird looking eggs!

Jessica took excellent care of me today. She greeted me upon arrival, seated me quickly, and took my order. I ordered the $5.99 Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit meal. It came quickly and was delicious. I recommend this location and Jessica to family and friends. 9-15-2023. Today, Tiffany provided excellent customer service during my visit to the Weirton, WV, Huddle House on Freedom Way. She greeted me at the door, seated me at a nice, quiet spot close to the TV, and asked how I was doing and for my drink order. Tiffany gave me ample time to review the menu and took my order. I ordered the Homestyle Huddle Bowl, which consisted of scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, and country gravy. I also chose a side of white toast with mixed fruit jelly. The meal was awesome! Tiffany gave me service with a smile, she had a wonderful personality, and Tiffany made sure I received my 20% Huddle Rewards Discount. The food came quickly, and I was very satisfied with today's visit. I recommend Tiffany and this Huddle House location to family and friends. 10-6-2023. Danicka took great care of me today, providing excellent customer service. She quickly seated me and took my order as I used a $5.29 Coupon for 2 Eggs, Bacon, and Hash Browns. The meal came within five minutes and was fantastic. The eggs were perfect, the bacon crispy, and the hash browns wonderful. I had no complaints. The service was excellent as well as the food.
