I'm a little late writing this. Last week we decided to try this place so we walked in and ordered to go. When we got home, we were beyond disappointed. I ordered the lasagna. Lady who worked there said it was a smart choice. Well it wasn't. It was 1 very small slice of lasagna. So small that it was no more the 3 bites, maybe 4. $16 for a few bites of food. The whole tray was cheese. Who wants to eat just cheese. The cheese inside the lasagna was terrible, the little that was there. No ricotta at all. It was basically just the noodle and a mound of cheese on top. I took 1 bite and threw it away. My boyfriend got the ravioli. He isn't picky at all and he was so disappointed. It looked and tasted like frozen. Barley any marinara sauce and he said it tasted like jar. He also got the baked spaghetti. Again barely any marinara. They put an overwhelming amount of cheese on top of that too. Why? To cover up the tiny tiny amount of actual item. So after spending $75, we left a tip even though we didn't dine in, we got $15 worth of food and majority of the spaghetti and ravioli, and lasagna went in the trash. Along with all that extra pointless cheese. When I called, the lady said, " Well, that's how it's made." I asked her if the tiny piece of lasagna was normal and she said yes. She told me, ""You got what we make." Wow. Well, we won't be going back here to literally give our money away. This place should feel terrible about charging people so much for so little. A 2 year old could eat more. People work hard for their money and we try to support small businesses but this place takes advantage. Sad! Oh, the cannolis were the worst I've ever had. It didn't taste like a cannoli at all. 2 in...
Read moreOn our first night in West Bend, we asked a few locals where to find the best pizza in town, and they pointed us to Maricio’s in Barton.
It was a busy Friday evening, and the place was packed. We almost ordered takeout, but just as we were deciding, a booth opened up — clearly meant to be! From the moment we walked in, the aroma of Italian food was incredible and made my stomach growl. Every single employee was hustling, yet somehow still friendly, attentive, and upbeat. Our table was cleaned and ready quickly, drink refills were prompt, appetizers came out fast, and our pizza followed soon after. This place runs like a well-oiled machine!
We started with the Haystack Onion Strings and Cheesy Garlic Bread. The onion strings were thin, crispy, and full of flavor, and that garlic bread… absolutely to die for — buttery, cheesy, with perfectly golden crunchy edges and a soft, chewy center.
For our main, we ordered a thin crust cheese pizza with half pepperoni. After those delicious appetizers, we were already pretty full, so we asked them box it up to go. Of course, we couldn’t resist having a slice before we left — and it was fantastic. The rest made the perfect late-night snack back at the hotel!
Maricio’s came highly recommended by locals, and it did not disappoint. Great food, great service, and great people — definitely...
Read moreThe food is pretty good as always. We used to go there quite a bit but stopped going since before the pandemic and decided to try it again. It's still tasty food but we were reminded why we stopped going there. Most Italian restaurants have generous portions Marcios are not there a little smaller but priced about the same as other Italian restaurants the drinks aren't any cheaper than other places but the pour is noticeably short making the drinks pretty expensive. Overall it's kinda pricey for what you get and certainly not a good value. The service is just okay the restaurant wasn't really busy and seemed adequately staffed but the bar service was slow and the food took a while to get to us we also noticed another customer waiting for a pizza sitting at the bar for quite a long while who was waiting before we had arrived. Even though the food is good between the over priced drinks and food and the service it reminded us why we stopped going there and we won't go back unless we...
