The Lively — Restaurant in West Branch

Chef Chris is a wizard who currently works his magic on certain days. On Sunday mornings, his divine brunch offerings are the best I've had in the Iowa City area. On Thursday evenings, dinner is excellent with menu items for everyone. And his monthly supper clubs (first Fridays- reserve on the website) are truly exquisite: a seasonal five course meal served up slowly with his thoughtful remarks on food sourcing*, preparation, and so forth.

The space itself is both airy and cozy, with lovely views over the golf course and surrounding countryside. They've built something special here.

We love The Lively -- the food, the staff, the views! Did I mention the FOOD??? We've enjoyed The Lively for brunch multiple times and dinner as well. Every visit, the food is outstanding and the service is as inviting and gracious as you'd expect from the Little Lights staff. Brunch is a MUST here! Every item I’ve tried is fantastic. My favorite is the breakfast sandwich, perfect balanced aioli with a mild kick, and the biscuits and gravy. Grateful for the kids menu at brunch too!

Dinner is awesome as well. The burger is one of the best I’ve had and the spicy chicken sandwich was delicious too! Looking forward to going back!
