The food is not 3 stars but because the service was great and it was a good atmosphere with reasonable pricing I don’t want to omit any type of credit. The food was a 1 star. The grits tasted like a off brand powder mix that was scraped from the bottom of a pot. It through my whole taste buds off it was so bad. The chicken with waffles has some type of coconut concoction that needs to go back to the drawing board. The bacon seemed like it was microwaved. The food was just terrible no flavor not even salt and pepper. I would suggest the owner review the recipes cause this was just mind blowing how nasty the food was. wife and i walked in to Sunny side Cafe 10-14-18 around 1:30 pm to a warm welcome i had a turkey club it was well made Wife had a steak and cheese onion sandwich it was good but ITS SO cheesy THAT THEY CHARGE YOU .40 cents to put a onion on it or lettuce on it come on that so cheap and a BIG turn off that they would charge to do that that,s why only 3 stars Our server Mary was super nice we will be back but dont be so cheap that you charge 40 cents for a onion place was clean i just hope that the tooth picks that was in the sandwich and left after we got done eating doesn,t get reused that would be disgusting in illegal as for the prices about...

One of the worst restaurant experiences ever. Please leave Chicken and Waffles to Black people and other trained cooking staffs. No one deserves to be fed their sorry excuse of 'cocunut' on chicken. If you want to feel depressed, Please purchase this so you can taste 'emptiness'. Yes the food was disappointing but even worse was the service. I took a bite and promptly sent it back as it was ineatable. They took it back and i ordered something simple. To my surprise when the check came they still charged me for the horrible meal that I sent back. Wow. I gave 1 star only because the server was nice. This place is awesome! We came here for our monthly family breakfast. Plenty of parking. There were 16 of us this time. There was enough room for all of us without us being cramed together. Plenty of parking. Not as small as the usual breakfast spots. They do except debit, credit, and cash. The staff and the food were excellent. Our waitress was amazing, she was so nice. They had some younger teens ladies working. They were very nice as well. One of the specials was an Apple crisp tower. oh man, that was delicious! 3 layers of waffle and apple crisp in between and topped with whipped cream. All the food was soooo good. I will definitely be back.

Nasty people and are probably proud of it.

PLEASE READ REVIEW in FULL for my reason… Look… The ONLY reason why I gave this place 3 Stars is to make sure I go back and order from their lunch menu!!! Waitstaff was ON POINT, prices were ON POINT and the breakfast… I’m dropping my photo here and let’s just say… NUFF SAID!!! I will update my review after I have lunch there in the VERY, VERY, NEAR future! UPDATE!!! Went back the following weekend and got breakfast again and as you can see… Same results so I added ONE STAR because I have yet to make it there for lunch.
