My wife and I have tried a zillion salsas and finally came across La Preferida, and the search is over. This is out favorite and we keep several jars on hand for us and to share. I think I buy between three and five jars each month at Harris-Teeter where I shop. Just as popular in our house is the La Preferida refried beans! I pick up the vegetarian cans and we are good for a couple of those each month at least. Great for a side dish, huevos rancheros (our style, anyway), and a hit with friends. I took a picture of our pantry and you can see we are not about to run out!

I give 5 stars cause they are super fast and friendly, also love this brand of food. Authentic as it gets without being homemade. First time picking up a load and though it was a little hard to find I was able to get here an hour before my appointment and the put me in a dock right away and started loading me. Wish they had a Mexican food stand or something outside for sampling! Lol. It was good experience. Chock both sides of trailer and watch your bumper on the curb. Tight backing will test your skillz!

Great place to pu/del. Lot is small but manageable, you'll have to blindside doors 6 and 7 but lots of room in between each one. Not sure if they let you but plenty of room for overnight in adjacent lot. It's hard to find, no matter which way you approach from I55 you'll have to come in off Southbound exit. There's a turn around if going north. When you get off exit and come to light entrance is dirt road straight across. Follow it down and building is on right. Posted pic of sign at entrance.

There's no shortage of Hispanic food brands here, but La Preferida has all the bases covered; spices; canned specialties; heat and serve, etc. For example, once you've eaten La Preferida Authentic refried beans, you'll never reach for your old brand again. Also, after years of making steamed rice using pricey Asian labels, save money and see better results with La Preferida white rice. Here's the proof; rinse any Asian white rice brand and even after 6 or 7 times changing the water, they're still full of the starch that keeps them sticky. Now just a couple of rinses of La Preferida is all that's needed, and it's ready for your favorite recipe. All their products are superior, and are...

La Preferida's green enchilada sauce is my favorite, not just for enchiladas, but for soup, meatloaf, and an outstanding chip dip!

Just today I bought La Preferida's green chiles, which is another versatile STAPLE in my pantry!

Prices very reasonable, and the flavors are truly authentic. No chemical aftertaste or using excessive capsaicin to fake you out. Everything is balanced; they CARE and take PRIDE in their products. And they value their customers - YOU!

Have fun with La Preferida's many products! Experiment! Encourage the whole family to participate in meal preparation. You could mix a bit of everything they make and it will be delicious!

Have a happy and...

La Preferida took over a favorite recipe of my Mother called Derby Tamales, previously sol in jars since the 1930's. She said these are just the same and was very happy. I made the Black Bean Brownies and they were a big hit with the whole crowd, not just the gluten free gang. These products are sold locally at The Uptown Market and are never in short supply. These goods are fairly and moderately priced. They can be eaten alone or used to compliment each other as single dishes for a Plato Typico or blended to make casserole style meals. Thanks again for making my Mom remember...
