Taqueria Los 7 Hermanos — Restaurant in Chicago

My fiancee and I were told this was a pretty decent place to eat so we decided to try it. The tacos were ok, nothing to brag about but the killer part was what we observed while eating. As with any mexican restaurant, salsa is served to you in small stone type of bowel with a spoon for your chips. I noticed the waitress remove the two partially used bowels from the table besides me, she walked them over to the refrigerator to refill them from the pre-made salsa in the large white bucket. She actually took the uneaten portion from the couple that had just left, refilled it without washing the bowel. She even used the SAME SPOON! I want to be clear so that you all fully understand what I am saying...A couple was given 2 salsa bowels, they dipped their chips, ate their food and left some salsa in the bowels. The waitress then came and used the same bowels, refilled the bowels and placed it in the fridge to give to the next innocent victim that came in to eat! When we mentioned it to the waitress, she admitted it until she saw the look of disgust on our faces, then she said oh no, we don't do that! But we saw it with our own eyes! Along with posting this review, I will call the Department of Health immediately Monday morning!! If anyone that reads this post do not believe what I am saying, I challenge you to go in the restaurant, sit at the counter as we did and observe. Los 7 Hermanos is a true gem in Brighton Park! The menu has a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes, and everything is incredibly affordable. I went for the tacos, and they did not disappoint. The carne asada was perfectly seasoned and tender, topped with fresh onions and cilantro, all wrapped in warm, homemade tortillas. The salsa on the side had just the right amount of spice to add a kick without overpowering the flavors.

First time ordering over the phone and I got to say, I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH! First of all, I ordered a torta de al pastor. I ordered ahead, but I forgot to ask if it was cash only or card too. When I got there I was greeted, and when it was time to pay she told me it was Cash only. I think she saw how disappointed I was, and I was ready to walk out, but she said “it’s okay, take it” and I was shocked! No one tells you to take the food and pay later anymore.
