Country House Restaurant — Restaurant in West Deptford Township

Hey there! So, I rolled into the Country House restaurant this morning, on a mission to find some new breakfast vibes. See, with the beloved Gateway diner closing its doors, I had to seek out fresh flavors. Now, let me tell ya, the staff there was decent, no major complaints on that front.

But here's the deal, my friends. The clientele, well, they skew towards the wiser and more seasoned crowd – blame it on the nearby retirement home and all. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's good to know what you're walking into.

Now, when it comes to the grub, I was hoping for some breakfast magic, but it was, well, kinda on the plain side. And don't even get me started on the scrapple – yikes! That was a disappointment, to say the least.

So, summing it up, the Country House restaurant is just alright, nothing to write home about. I'll give 'em points for trying, but I'm not sure I'll be making a return trip. Sometimes you gotta roll the dice, but this one didn't quite hit the jackpot for me. 🍳👴🏡...

The wait staff is excellent and the food acceptable but what is not acceptable is the staff adding money to my credit card after the fact. I brought my proof in and shared it with the manager telling him my motive was not to have the stolen money returned but I wanted the practice to stop. It did stop for a while but then once again it happened. My phone alerts my immediately upon my credit card being swiped and the amount shown was correct but somewhere later in the day money was added (possibility added as a tip since I left that space blank since it was already covered) this has happened possibly 6 times that I took the time to track so my advice is to check your receipts carefully and mark through the tip line on the check if it was already covered on the table. My opinion is this is not just happening to me. Unfortunately I will not support a business that steals...

Country house is pretty good IMO for take out. I’ve only ever gotten breakfast here. And their pork roll and cheese is my go to (must order extra pork roll or you will have a very heavy roll with 1 slice of cheese and a slice of pork roll) the home fries to go I never eat. My husband seems to like them enough to eat just his. And the other occasions when I dined in (for only breakfast as I mentioned earlier) I felt it was overly crowded starting with the parking lot and establishment, from the time you standing while waiting to be seated to the moment you are sat to eat. But that also says ALOT FOR THE SERVICE AND FOOD! I avoid this by doing take out. I’ve also had French toast, eggs , sausage, scrapple and have been happy...
