Northern Lights Pizza (108) — Restaurant in West Des Moines

I was blown away by the customer service here! I ordered carry out, and I was holding my young daughter when I walked in. Over the course of 20 seconds, the man at the counter gave me a compliment, held the receipt for me as it shifted around on the counter since my other hand was holding my daughter, ran over to the door to open it since my hands were full, and ran out ahead of me to my car in the FREEZING cold to open my car door so I could set the pizza down to get my daughter in the car. I don't catch his name, but thank you to the man at the counter with the ponytail! I hadn't left a tip at that time, but I went back and gave them one online because I was really grateful.

Oh and the pizza/cheesy bread is pretty good too! We'll be ordering...

Called and ordered a pizza at 8PM, they said it would take about 45 minutes. After an hour and fifteen minutes I decided to call just to see if they were running behind and was told "oh.. uh.. I meant to call you. We can't deliver to your address because you're downtown"... I asked why my order was taken in the first place and then why I wasn't contacted when they realized their mistake and was told "I'm not sure... you can try calling the other Northern Lights though"... at this point I went full on suburban mom and asked for the manager and of course was told that I was speaking to the manager and that there was nothing he could do unless I drive down to their location and pick up the pizza myself..... these guys are...

I live closer to the Westown Parkway location but usually wait until their store closes so I can order from here. The other place has subpar to downright awful food. I also cannot understand their drivers half the time. I live in an apartment complex with multiple entrances. It's very difficult giving directions to drivers with poor English comprehension. I've rarely if ever had bad food or service from this store. The only reason I docked them a star is delivery can take forever during certain times of the day. This store is too small and not staffed adequately enough to accommodate the area they service. If at all possible I recommend carryout during...
