Listen. You might be looking at that (at the time of this writing) 4.7 stars on Google with some skepticism. Is it really that good, you might ask?
Yes. Yes it is. In fact, just the week before I came here, I was in Vegas for work and ate at Joel Robuchon. JR is a 3 star Michelin restaurant; if you're not familiar, Michelin gives stars to the very finest dining in the world, and 3 stars is the top. It was an incredible meal. But you know what? I'd come back here sooner than eat there again. The food was that good. (And a lot cheaper than JR, I must admit.) Here's what I ate:
Bearclaw Latte: if you want a delicious, light frou frou type coffee, order this and be glad you did.
Fettucine: delicious umami, noodles cooked to perfection.
Lamb Chops: HOLY MOLY. You see that word "glaze" and you're probably skeptical, right? I was too. Best lamb chops I've ever eaten. And I've been to New Zealand. I could have eaten a whole pound of the cauliflower puree.
Cheesecake: I actually don't like cheesecake. I ordered it because my dinner companion and I were so blown away by everything else on the menu, we had to try it, and it was the only dessert available. It was a nice light fluffy cheesecake, and pretty tasty. Still not a cheesecake fan. But if you are, you'll probably enjoy this.
I'm so sad that I will probably never eat here again, since I came as a tourist. Do not miss this place while you're...
Read moreJosephine’s bar was so great after a long day. It’s such a stunning spot that is so cozy, yet perfect for a hot sunny day’s sunset. The music was great, the wait staff looked like they were having a blast and so helpful, the food hit the spot, and the drinks were great. The history and inspiration of Josephine’s is really cool as well. It’s also my understanding that the chef is from Croatia, which my Croatian waiter was very proud of (said Croatians can really throw down in the kitchen).
Our waiter recommended 3 dishes for two people, which was a really helpful. Of course I love meat and my partner is vegetarian, so we didn’t share everything, but the goal here is to do so. We shared the hearts of Palm (really good salad), partner ordered the mushroom truffle risotto (partner said the mushrooms were delicious but the pasta itself needed some more flavor, I liked it enough but agree), and I had the chicken skewers with kimchi (really yummy, can’t really go wrong with skewers and the kimchi was pretty tasty). For dessert we had the cheesecake (it’s cheesecake again you can’t go wrong). I also had the whiskey sour with egg white, huckleberry liquor, and whatever else. Highly recommend. Another wonderful recommendation by our waiter. All together the total was $80 before tipping.
I recommend this place to tourists and locals alike for a...
Read moreWe had our best meal of our stay in the West Glacier area at Josephine’s Bar and Kitchen.
We sat outside on a coolish night. Might have stayed inside but the music was a little loud for our tastes. You hear some road noise on the patio but it seemed to fade away as the meal went on.
Service wasn’t slow, but wasn’t fast either, which kind of fit the vibe of the restaurant. Servers were attentive and made nice recommendations on drinks, menu items, portions sizes and how to navigate the menu. What you order comes out as it is ready from the kitchen so everything was at the right temperature when it hit the table. We had the smash potatoes, chicken skewers and salmon and all were excellent. Was really good combo to split between two people.
We didn’t get the cheesecake desert but it looked wonderful.
Cocktails are made with spirits from the distillery nexts door and were also excellent. Summer Fling and Josephine Mule were what we had. I accidentally knocked over my 1/2 finished Summer Fling when my arm hit the straw and they brought me a new one at no charge!
If we had come here the first night of our stay instead of our last we would have come back a time...
