Listen. You might be looking at that (at the time of this writing) 4.7 stars on Google with some skepticism. Is it really that good, you might ask?

Yes. Yes it is. In fact, just the week before I came here, I was in Vegas for work and ate at Joel Robuchon. JR is a 3 star Michelin restaurant; if you're not familiar, Michelin gives stars to the very finest dining in the world, and 3 stars is the top. It was an incredible meal. But you know what? I'd come back here sooner than eat there again. The food was that good. (And a lot cheaper than JR, I must admit.) Here's what I ate:

Bearclaw Latte: if you want a delicious, light frou frou type coffee, order this and be glad you did.

Fettucine: delicious umami, noodles cooked to perfection.

Lamb Chops: HOLY MOLY. You see that word "glaze" and you're probably skeptical, right? I was too. Best lamb chops I've ever eaten. And I've been to New Zealand. I could have eaten a whole pound of the cauliflower puree.

Cheesecake: I actually don't like cheesecake. I ordered it because my dinner companion and I were so blown away by everything else on the menu, we had to try it, and it was the only dessert available. It was a nice light fluffy cheesecake, and pretty tasty. Still not a cheesecake fan. But if you are, you'll probably enjoy this.

I'm so sad that I will probably never eat here again, since I came as a tourist. Do not miss this place while you're...

Josephine’s bar was so great after a long day. It’s such a stunning spot that is so cozy, yet perfect for a hot sunny day’s sunset. The music was great, the wait staff looked like they were having a blast and so helpful, the food hit the spot, and the drinks were great. The history and inspiration of Josephine’s is really cool as well. It’s also my understanding that the chef is from Croatia, which my Croatian waiter was very proud of (said Croatians can really throw down in the kitchen).

Our waiter recommended 3 dishes for two people, which was a really helpful. Of course I love meat and my partner is vegetarian, so we didn’t share everything, but the goal here is to do so. We shared the hearts of Palm (really good salad), partner ordered the mushroom truffle risotto (partner said the mushrooms were delicious but the pasta itself needed some more flavor, I liked it enough but agree), and I had the chicken skewers with kimchi (really yummy, can’t really go wrong with skewers and the kimchi was pretty tasty). For dessert we had the cheesecake (it’s cheesecake again you can’t go wrong). I also had the whiskey sour with egg white, huckleberry liquor, and whatever else. Highly recommend. Another wonderful recommendation by our waiter. All together the total was $80 before tipping.

I recommend this place to tourists and locals alike for a...

We had our best meal of our stay in the West Glacier area at Josephine’s Bar and Kitchen.

We sat outside on a coolish night. Might have stayed inside but the music was a little loud for our tastes. You hear some road noise on the patio but it seemed to fade away as the meal went on.

Service wasn’t slow, but wasn’t fast either, which kind of fit the vibe of the restaurant. Servers were attentive and made nice recommendations on drinks, menu items, portions sizes and how to navigate the menu. What you order comes out as it is ready from the kitchen so everything was at the right temperature when it hit the table. We had the smash potatoes, chicken skewers and salmon and all were excellent. Was really good combo to split between two people.

We didn’t get the cheesecake desert but it looked wonderful.

Cocktails are made with spirits from the distillery nexts door and were also excellent. Summer Fling and Josephine Mule were what we had. I accidentally knocked over my 1/2 finished Summer Fling when my arm hit the straw and they brought me a new one at no charge!

If we had come here the first night of our stay instead of our last we would have come back a time...

Overall the experience was fine. My wife and I ordered 2 apps, the mussels/clams and the mushroom risotto. Both were just ok. Considering the options around for miles are all very similar, this place sticks out more than those as having nicer, healthier options, however the way I look it is if you serve me a burger or chicken tenders then serve me a really good burger or chicken tenders. If you serve me mussels/clams or risotto then make sure it's really good. Not just ok because it's different than all the restaurants around. The risotto was flavorful but undercooked and not creamy enough. It was too "ricey". And if you (the restaurant) don't understand that comment then I'm not sure what too say. Also the shellfish was just basic. Nothing special. Almost like it was just butter and a splash of wine. The bread served with it had little care. Was hard and seemed like an afterthought. After eating our two apps we went and ate dinner somewhere else where the food seemed like it had more care and was more memorable. The service and atmosphere at Josephine's was nice and charming. I just wish the recipes/food were better. I would want to come back then.

My husband and I rented a little cabin in the woods following our GNP elopement. Our first supper together as husband and wife we spent at Josephine’s and it did not disappoint. The drinks were fresh and delicious and the food was out of this world. We first started with the COZZE & VONGOLE Clams & Mussels, and to be honest as a Florida girl I was a little skeptical about ordering seafood but this dish was stunning. The seafood was amazing quality and very fresh and the flavors of the broth paired with the bread were amazing. We then shared the ribeye which melted in your mouth and was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My husband is pretty picky about steaks and he said it was one of the best he’s ever had. The gentleman who ran the establishment took care of us that evening at the bar and he had great suggestions and even better conversation. 10/10 would recommend as a must have when in town.

I recently had the pleasure of reserving Josephine’s for a small wedding dinner (25 people), tour, tastings, and open bar. From start to finish, it was an exceptional experience. I was immediately struck by the chic and cozy ambiance of Josephine’s—the warm lighting and tasteful decor created an inviting atmosphere perfect for our event. The service was impeccable; food was delicious, and the drinks were spectacular. The Events Manager, Laura, along with the whole team from Glacier Distilling was attentive, professional, lively, and welcoming. Josephine’s was an amazing space for our celebration. Josephine’s and Glacier Distilling exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy a fantastic meal, this is a destination that should be at the top of your list. I'll definitely be returning soon!
