Below is thet review I posted to Yelp for this establishment, I went to the Sandbar on May 20th:
Had an unbelievable experience here just now. Unbelievable as in unbelievably BAD. Read on.
I literally just got back from the restaurant to pick up my food, which was an entire ordeal because they can't keep track of their orders and customers.
I placed an order for the lobster roll platter through Yelp, which I guess is partnered up with a company called Eat24. Anyway, I pay online and place the order for pickup, and they send a receipt to my email. The estimated wait time is 45-60 mins.
After 40 mins, I head over to the place. I walk in and tell the cashier (a young man) that I placed an order to pick up for Yesenia. He checks the computer and looks confused. He asks me, "did you order online?" I said yes, and he goes to ask the cook behind him about the lobster roll. The cook looks confused for some reason (don't know why, considering he's the one making the food), so the young man goes to the back and asks an older guy about it.
The older guy comes out to the front with a piece of paper and receipt, and tells me "He already took it". WHO already took it? I had no idea WHAT he was talking about. I thought that he meant that maybe a delivery guy took it out, so I said "No, I ordered it for pick up, not delivery". The guy says, "I know but some guy took it already".
This is when I start getting short. I tell him that I don't know what guy he's talking about, but my name is Yesenia; Yesenia is a woman's name, and I am here to pick up what I ordered. He's obviously never heard of someone with my name, but now I'm wondering, how did they just give the food away to someone else? Did they even ask for this alleged man's name before giving him the food? There was a young couple sitting behind me and a man behind me in line waiting. I was starting to get very frustrated and embarrassed.
They turn around and see a brown paper bag sitting on a rack over the grill, awaiting pick up (which I didn't even notice to begin with). The older man tells the young man to grab it, and brings it to me. The older guy says "that's it, here you go". I tell him I'm opening the bag and checking it before I leave, because I want to make sure it is correct. I check, and it's exactly what I ordered. I thank him.
The guy then had the audacity to say, "Next time I'm going to ID. Do you have your ID?" I can't believe after all of this, he has the nerve to embarrass me further and ask for identification. I show him my ID, and he takes a nice 30 seconds staring at it. Then he gives it back to me and tells me I'm all set.
I haven't even tried my food yet. Honestly, if this is how they operate, I DON'T CARE how good their food is. I will never be coming here again. Unless you order in person, do not bother giving this establishment...
Read moreFirst off, I've given this restaurant SEVERAL chances. Ever since new people have taken over my experience has not be the same!! The kid who answers the phone doesn't seem to care about what you're ordering, I always have to repeat myself at least 3 times. There's even been a time where I've been put on hold so long waiting to order that I hung up! Mind you you could tell the phone was sitting on the counter I could hear everything in the background! I spend $30 or better every time and tonight I'm sitting here waiting 30 minutes because they didn't have change when they arrived! I didn't pay with a large bill and live not far away but yet I'm waiting for my own money! So I called and the kid says he's out doing deliveries he's on his way! So I'm waiting for MY money and he's out making other deliveries? Sandbar you have lost my business FOREVER! I will be sure to let anyone I know who frequents there about my...
Read moreI haven't been to this place in 15 years, and now I see why & won't be going back again. I stopped in yesterday 8/24/25 for 2 subs w/ fries platter. Total $30.06... The portion was so small I literally counted 13 fries in mines, 15 fries in my son's chicken cutlet platter. The steak & cheese was mainly lettuce, I mean so little meat it was hard roll size, definitely not sub size. The main reason for the review is that when I picked up my sub the bread was so hard as if it was old, when I looked at the back part of the bread had literally been peeled off as if it got stuck to something or as if it had mold on it, removed it & tried to make it work since it's the backside I wouldn't notice.... I don't live close to this place & definitely won't be going back. It has definitely gone down from the looks of the outside absolutely no curb appeal, dirty looking, doesn't make you want to sit outside & eat at all.... My 2 ⭐⭐...
