Mel's Pizzeria — Restaurant in West Kittanning

Great little bar and pizza shop in West Kittanning, PA. I've eaten there a handful of times. We've also ordered delivery and take out. The pizza is scratch made with a really good dough. The last time we were there, Brayden was our server. He was very attentive and got everything we asked for. He made us feel like regulars and even joked around with his. I give props, because even when they got busy, our drinks stayed full, and he checked on us regularly. The bartender on that evening was running around helping all the servers. She even brought us a few refills herself. I think her name was Jack. One of the managers, I think, even swung by to check up on us and see if we needed anything. He was very welcoming and pleasant. Told us about some of the events they have coming up. I dont remember his name, but he was a heavierset bearded guy. We had ordered the roast beef pizza and some wings. I had the pleasure of working for Chris and Mel when they first began in downtown Kittanning (then to Worthington). They created a very welcoming team atmosphere amongst our staff. It translated into effort in the kitchen from top to bottom. As far as the food, they always put quality first in everything they prepare, which keeps customers coming back. To this day I have never had a bad meal from their place!

Later in life I was fortunate enough to start my own business and am thankful for my time spent working under the Dias's. They were nice enough to send me a 'good luck' card in the mail after our first month open that hangs in my office -class act people. I was required to stay for several months in the Kittanning area (an area I've never before visited) for work. I quickly became a regular customer at Mel's because of the quality and price of the food, and the selection of beverages, and, most importantly, because of Mel and Chris and their team. I wont attempt to name all the friends I made at Mel's for fear of leaving someone out, but the kindness of the staff and the patrons at Mel's Pizzeria speak volumes about Mel and Chris and the kind of business they operate.
