The Craft House Gastropub — Restaurant in West Kittanning

Update....11/6/23.... Came in tonight for another go. And the food and service was spot on. The waitress was attentive and the food was just as ordered-hot and fresh. So big applause!!!! New picture to show how much better this was!!! Thank you.

The food is hit or miss. Been great..and then it has been blah. My biggest complait is the waitresses. They are always doing so much other stuff they barely come check on you. And they love to stand and talk and talk and talk amongst themselves as you die for more drink while trying to eat. This is not a one time occurance. It is every single time(been a half dozen times)...so it is taught and accepted. We have even seated ourselves and waited forever before someone stopped talking/laughing in the back to finally come and wait on us. Today...8/27/2023 Came again after a long time of not visiting. There was no one at the host table. Actually not an employee in sight except at the bar. The sign said wait to be seated. So we did. We waited. And waited. Annoyed my husband stepped over to the bar and ask the guy if we could just seat ourselves. He said he would find a hostess. Who came out quickly and did seat us. But why wait and chase the service down. My husband and I was like...not much has changed. The place was not busy or crowded. No reason for this. Ordered the chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato ONLY and the sauce on the side. It came out with just lettuce and the sauce all over it. Sent it back and it still didnt have a tomato and after lookikg it over realized they just flipped the piece of chicken over and tried to get away with that...and I requested a tomato and this picture will show the tomato they brought...not even edible. So I requested to just take the whole meal off my order and I ate my daughters left overs. Just done with the...

This restaurant is one of the jewels of Armstrong County PA! They have the best burgers I have ever tried, they're so big and juicy! There are several different types to try, each one unique and delicious. It's not just burgers though, what is ribeye, sirloin steaks, meatloaf, pot roast and fish everything to be served as it's an entree or made into a sandwich! Every entree comes with delectable, freshly made sides, fresh salads or soup. I havent tried any of the soup, but it looks incredible! Their appetizers though! I've never seen anything like it, are absolutely indisputably the best I've ever had in my life. Their spinach dip and pita bread are so delicious that even my four and six year olds gobble it up! If you are somebody that prefers a bar like atmosphere they've got you covered! They've got plenty of beer on tap and a bar upfront. There's an outside seating area, that I can't wait to utilize this summer! My family and I love going here for dinner on Friday nights, their atmosphere is just fun and casual but I would definitely bring my in-laws for their anniversary or potential client that trying to show off just enough for... because, although The Craft House isn't some five star, super ritzy, three piece suit and gown required type of establishment, it doesn't pretend to be. It's just great food, an amazing staff and comfortable relaxing atmosphere brought together to form what quickly became my family's favorite restaurant in West Kittanning.

We went here for lunch around 1:30. When we walked in we saw a sign that said wait to be seated. We stood there for a few minutes before anyone even greeted us. So not sure if they have a hostess or if they just have the waiter/waitresses fill in. Either way it would have been nice if someone was there when we walked in. It was kind of awkward just standing there.

Wasn't crowded at all. There were maybe 3 other tables with people at them and a few people at the bar. The ambiance is nice, the lights are cool. There were lots of space between the tables and the bar seemed like a nice size.

I got a Cuban sandwich with fries. I never had one anywhere else so I don't have anything to compare it to. It wasn't bad but nothing great either. The fries were not that great. The ones that were fully cooked were good but there were a lot of half cooked fries.

We got a hamburger with fries and toasted cheese with fries for the kids. The hamburger was bland, the brioche bun was good. The toasted cheese was good. Again, half the fries were not fully cooked.

My husband got the Cobb salad . It came out on a long plate. It was hard to mix it well without spilling it on the table. He said it was ok. He got tea with his meal and said it sucked.

The staff was nice but I only got one refill for my drink. When the waitress came back to the table she didn't even notice my drink was empty. I had to ask for a refill.
