COUNTRY CAFE — Restaurant in West Odessa

I have zero issues with the food, prices, atmosphere, or even parking. My qualms have been the decline in service as a whole over the past year. It has been displeasurable to dine-in because most of the waitress staff seem mad or too busy to be bothered. Very oftentimes you aren't offered strawsl; you will wait a good while for refills; it isn't unusual to not be offered or to not get your dessert with the special; and oftentimes your roll isn't brought out. Tonight, my nephew wasn't brought or even offered his soup or salad. My order was wrong, which seemed to aggravate the waitress (as in an argumentative/defensive way), even though she repeated it back correctly after ordering. I get good help is hard to find, and a heartbeat is better than none...but please do better to make sure your staff members are happy, feel valued, and have the resources to do the job effectively and in a welcoming manner for the customers. I have debated on finding a new weekend eatery, but I keep coming back, hoping it will get better. I love the food, the variety, and the laid-back crowd...just not sure what the staffing...

It is very nice to find establishments that still allow smoking, big plus. Quaint atmosphere and friendly staff.

The wait staff is like family, these people are the only thing I miss about my time 2 ¹/²yrs in West Texas.

My first visit I ordered the Sweet Tea, Sirloin (medium-rare), eggs (over-easy) and hashbrowns (garnished with cheese).

The eggs were perfect, the hashbrowns were very good but, the sirloin was a bad cut of meat that had a lot of cross fat, the kind that make it almost impossible to eat and it was more well-done than medium-rare.

Now I can't blame them for this, every now and then you get a bad cut of meat. I didn't bother complaining about it and only ate half of the steak because I just got to tired fighting with it and chewing forever just to finish it.

This will not prevent me from returning to this establishment. If I order the same thing next time and it's a repeat.. I will not have a favorable review but, till then, I enjoyed the place and would recommend it.

I have been to other places where occasionally you get a bad cut, so I am understanding about...

Have been coming here for a while and have never been dissatisfied until today. I ordered a burger from the window. I asked for all vegetables. Lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and jalapeños. I waited a long time for the order to be brought to the parking lot but …. Nothing. I went inside and it was sitting in the pick up window. I was little upset but an apology was given. Ok NP. Got the burger home and took a bite. It was missing half the veggies. I called and was offered a free desert. I don’t do desert. I was told to ask for a particular name there and satisfaction would be given. Folks, I don’t want free stuff. I want what I order when I ordered it. Just get it right. Also disappointed that they do nothing for Veterans Day, no discount, no special for Vets. NOTHING! It’s their right but who died for them to enjoy that right. I won’t be back. Better...
