Me and a buddy stopped here hoping we’d have some good food and a beer but we didn’t have a good experience. Stopped in last weekend and ordered a beer and some of their wings. We ordered the wings with cajun rub and a BBQ sauce. 11 minutes later our food arrived at the front and I went to grab it to bring it back to our table. When we bit into the wings the middle was frozen cold. We looked at each other and knew that we had to send our food back because it was completely unacceptable. Of course at this time the bar area was much busier than when we first got there. My buddy went to take it back to the counter and nobody was there to greet him when he went up with the food. He was standing there for a few minutes until a young kid saw him standing there. My friend talked to the kid (he was maybe a teenager) and the kid didn’t know what to do with the food that by buddy brought back. The kid took the food and was just standing there and didn’t tell my friend that they would remake our wings, he said nothing. Friend described it like this hasn’t happened before but I’d be shocked. The cook came out of the back and threw his arms up and shook his head when the kid handed him the cold wings. Nobody told us if we were going to get our food back or what was going on. The cook went to the back and the kid left up front. About 15 minutes go by and the food got done and was up front but nobody told us. I guess they were trying to figure out where we were sitting. The kid brought us our food and said nothing to us (we were hoping he’d say sorry for the screw up). He handed us our food and left. We were going to order another beer after but we both were turned off by our experience so we decided to leave. Not a good look for West O Beer. Not happy with our experience. I don’t recommend. They are going to get someone sick, cook or manager should have handled this...
Read moreLots of amazing beers on draft and a lovely overall vibe. They even have fresh hops growing on the porch. Some games that you can play too! The food offerings are a little unclear when they are offered, so we ended up bringing in our own food. The service was hit or miss. Friendly but they seemed really busy or distracted. I couldn't tell. Not quite the focused customer engagement that is known in the craft beer world. You can buy some take away drinks but you may end up paying more than at Hy-Vee, Fareway, or even Walmart. Check it out though. You should be able to find something that fits your pallet and a nice place to enjoy a drink...
