Curly Shawarma — Restaurant in West Peoria

My picture of the food doesn't do this place justice but the moment I got it started chowing down. I live just down the road from this place and they might as well take my paychecks. Will be eating here more often. The restaurant is cleaner than any restaurant I've seen. The staff is friendly. The food is absolutely incredible! The hummus is also the best hummus in the Peoria area. I don't usually eat much hummus but their hummus is so flavorful and delicious. The portions are perfect! The only complaint I have is being unable to hear the cashier with the fans so loud. You can tell the owner put a ton of hard work and love into the building. From the parking lot to inside to the patio area everything looks incredible and detailed. I especially love their patio area with the lights and seats. Next time I'm not in a rush I'll eat there. Back to what you came here to read. The beef and chicken shawarma is a welcome flavor pallet to my mouth and a warm hug to my belly. I hope this place gets a lot of business...

Stopped in for the first time last Thursday to pick up dinner for a group and had a great experience! It's so clean inside, the workers are polite and accommodating (one friend is gluten free and they made sure to make their entree with no pita contact), and the prices are great. It's almost a chipotle-style setup where you order at one end of the counter and your entree is plated to order. Although Peoria has lots of restaurants with this style of cuisine, as a vegetarian and west bluff resident, this place will be a frequent stop for me!

As of now there doesn't seem to be any option for ordering ahead via phone or online, and the only website seems to be instagram, so if you want to eat there, you'll have to stop in -- but it's got a great new parking lot and it's not a long wait at all. Came in to pick up lunch and the staff was very friendly, the restaurant was clean and welcoming. I ordered the falafel plate, mixed grill plate and curly fries. The falafel was a little on the dry side for my taste but still delicious. The kabobs were juicy and with everything being so flavorful, the rice and fresh veg were the perfect mediators within the dish. The pita was warm and fluffy. My favorite was the hummus, it is so smooth, silky and a perfect balance of flavors. I must admit it’s the best I’ve ever had! The curly fries were seasoned to perfection, but I know they would have been much better made fresh.
