I love Bradley Park so much that I have moved back 3 times and currently open my Parkside home to others as a Bed and Breakfast. I am so grateful for all the miracles that continue to occur here!
One day, after 7 years of failing at nick-naming, I asked my daughter if it would be ok if I could call her Angel Butterfly, and she walked up to me, said "yes", and happened to be putting a butterfly shirt on! Then as I'm attempting to give my nephew 7 dollars for his 7th birthday, I fail by accidentally having only 6 dollars and without even hearing what had been said (because he wasn't there before) he looks up to me and says "it's ok, when you die you come back as a butterfly!" HintHint- God incident. Then his friend says, "Sharing is caring, but the giver chooses when to share!"
Now before opening any of his 7th birthday presents I have to share with everyone the present we had just recieved nick-naming 1 Angel Butterfly coinciding with 2 butterfly moments.
And then the true miracle of how powerful and awesome God is occurs. My daughter had recieved a letter in the mail and when she opened it with my nephew inside it had a picture drawn with, yes truly, 2 butterflies and in the center an Angel Butterfly!
If you want to see what miraculously happened next just walk in the park and find the baby tree with a butterfly memorial medallion to the south of Christ-opher Columbus I posted a picture of.
We went to 2 Easter egg hunts, and it happened to snow before the hunt. My niece asked, "Why are we at church for an Easter egg hunt?" I laughed at trying to attempt to explain how they coincide, and instead decided to get to the point and asked her, "Do you know the gospel?" Without skipping a beat she says, "Yes, Jesus died for our sins. Now let's pray. Thank you God for the snow, our family, and I hope we win the grand prize!"
Yes, truly I tell you, we one both grand prizes at both Easter Egg hunts after her prayer, and then we came home and saw the baby tree being planted in Bradley Park with a Butterfly memorial medallion and an Angel bench (which is no longer there unfortunately). To God be all the glory for none of us could make all of these no coincidences happen. They are God incidents truly.
Oh and there is a cherry on top too! I let the family planting the memorial tree know they are welcome any time to stay at our Whiskey Baron Air Bnb (bed and breakfast) across the street, and they say oh that's funny we're staying at an Air Bnb down the street. I asked them the address and it was my child hood home I had grown up in! God is with us! We've have witnessed so many miracles on Bradley Park. It's been a true blessing. To God be all the Glory! Come visit,...
Read moreFriendly people frequent this park and alot of them are enjoyable to watch as I am definitely an amateur disk golf player. I lost one of my disks on the first hole and within a few mins there was another player that took about 15 mins helping me look. Was very thoughtful of him. In the process I found a similar disk to mine and the stranger found another for me and let me have it...so lost one but gained two! While I was looking more people were at the first hole to play so while I was still looking for my lost disk I let two groups go ahead of me. The atmosphere is very calming with most areas covered in shade and birds chirping. I will certainly be trying the lower 9 holes next time and try to skip or get better for the first hole so I don't lose more disks. All in all another enjoyable time at the park, I recommend going there and trying what else the park has to offer. U can. Ride your bike through the whole park for more exercise or play some volleyball with the net all set up already!😃 Good places to eat right when ur ready to head out such as Jerusalem restaurant but get there before 7pm on a Sunday as they close early. if you're ready for a drink instead head to Cruisens which is just about a block...
Read moreWonderful and massive park with attractions and community activities throughout the seasonable times of year. Great park to drive, bike, hike, walk, wheel, or amble thru.
There are definitely some woodier shady nooks for those who love nature, but this is also a very curated and walkable park that is accessible to many ages and abilities.
Beautiful Pagoda and bridge has been a great picture/selfie spot for years. Barbeque pits, benches, sports fields, grassy ways--lovely spot for picnicers, people watchers, families, loners, books and earbuds.
Also features Cornstock theatre and some of the nicest public restrooms in the known universe are located in this area of the park. Whether you see a show (recommended) or not (bit spendy, yo), take advantage of the food court on show days. There are usually great local food vendors while shows are running worth a wait for a bite.
This is a really great place for folks who may have troubles accessing other parks as well. Handicapped parking available in several places, wide paved paths, regular benches and trees to rest if needed. Shade is easy...
