Tad's Dairy Barn — Restaurant in West Virginia

I went there for an icecream as my first experience. I ordered topping and was told I couldn't order that topping because it was for a different type of icecream. I then tried to order a different topping at which the girl employee threw her pen down, rolled her eyes and shook her head. I was so embarrassed because I didn't know what I did. I complained about her behavior and was told I was out of line!! She humiliated me which unfortunately brought forth tears. I explained she was very rude and I didn't know what I ordered was wrong as it was my first visit. They did nothing to reprimand her. Then a man behind me in line started calling me derogatory names and yelled at me how he had to wait in line because of me. I tried to take the high road and apologized for his wait where he continued to yell and publicly humiliate me. I am a quiet and calm person. I never complain even when I should. I was so disrespected that I spoke my mind and it was hard to do because I'm so shy. I am still crying as I write this. Shame on them for treating their customers so awfully. Update 2023 - Not what it was, as a year ago this was a great local business that made ice cream, a bit more then DQ, but friendly and worth supporting the local shop.

Tonight was bad...service was very slow (actually arrived at 8 but came back at 8:45 due to the long lines waiting on orders placed). A numbered card system has been employed, which seemed promisingto have each order made and delivered by number. Sadly our order did not come out together when our number was called and ultimately left one member of our party without their ice cream, to which employee's said they made it, someone must have taken it. Then why use numbers to fulfill orders? While they offered to make another, it was only noticed that this member of our party was still waiting as they closed...meaning, we were all finished. So much for a group outing. Employee's still said it was made, someone must have taken it. Asked for a refund, but it's pathetic that I had to request a refund and that the "apology" included they had made it. This review would look 100% different if a genuine apology...

I need To preface this review by saying I LOVE this place. Our favorite desserts are tad m&m blasts, the soft serve ice cream, and the milkshakes. Best vanilla soft serve I've had. But today in my strawberry milkshake (was amazing by the way) I found small nuts and tiny pieces of chocolate at the bottom. This could be a hospital visit for someone with a nut allergy. I'm grateful I don't have one! And hopefully never will. I'm not sure how this happened and this is the first time it has, but please be careful with this! The next person might not be so lucky 🙏 Please those with a nut allergy do be careful here and possibly stick to the soft serve and they also have snow cones and sundaes. Don't let it deter you though their soft serve is great. Mr Richards has hot dog and soft serve if you're looking for some food with dessert. But for mainly dessert, its hard to beat tads!! They have great customer service. Please please let them know if you have an allergy before hand! I'm positive they...
