We enjoyed eating here in the past, but this evening was not the same. The hostess/server was not interested in making sure we had a nice meal. She paid no attention to social distancing. 2 parties had been seated at adjacent tables, although the who rest of the place empty. She was going to seat us right next to them. We asked to be seated away from those 2 tables, which she did. Then, while we were eating, she proceeded to seat 4 adults and a high chair right next to us! If that is the level of concern for hygene in the dining room, what is going on in the kitchen?
Throughout the meal, the service continued to be lackluster and cursory. She slapped the bill on the table, told us there was no rush in that annoying singsong that bored workers use when they must communicate with customers, and then she did not return long after we had our payment ready. Why didn't she get someone to cover her table for a few minutes, if she was taking a break?
The grilled chicken salad cost $13.99 and there was an adequate amount of chicken, but not much lettuce. After I got home, I dug out some carrot sticks and an orange, and then I felt like I'd had a meal.
We wanted to treat ourselves, but this experience was a colossal waste of money and a source of anxiety for our health. Next time, we'll just eat at home.
Contrary to the owner's response, the restaurant was not at full capacity. When we arrived, there were two tables seated in the whole restaurant, which has 15 tables. The restaurant has 3 sections. The section nearest the door had a couple of employees hanging out at one of the tables. The middle section has 6 tables. The two seated tables were right across the aisle from each other in this section. The hostes wanted to put us next to these two tables. There was plenty of room to space people farther apart.
The third section also has 6 tables. There was NOBODY at any of these 6 tables.
Of the 15 tables in the restaurant, 3 had people at them, including us. There would have been plenty of capacity to follow health recommendations for seating.
We have visited other restaurants recently, while traveling in Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. In each case, we saw seating blocked off to allow 6 feet between parties of diners. With this seating configuration, there would have been only 3 tables available in this section, the first and third tables on one side of the aisle, and the second table on the other side, so that people would have been seated 6 feet apart. Not in this restaurant.
The wait staff just wanted to do as little work as possible and seated everyone together. Obviously, their management is fine with this. If this lack of regard for people's safety is the new normal in West Virginia, we will not be eating out again until we go out of state again. And certainly not...
Read moreI really hate to leave bad reviews but sometimes they are warranted. We went here when they first opened. We weren’t happy so we never went back. Friends have said it’s good and I see all of these positive reviews so we tried it again finally tonight. We should have stuck with our original opinion and not went back, very unfortunately.
Our service was terrible. We were there for nearly two hours, not because we wanted to. The busboys waited on us more than our waitress did. She was friendly but would just disappear for a while. They were also very slow so I’m not sure where she would go to.
Cheese dip was so runny, you seriously needed a straw to just drink it. It’s like they watered it down to make it stretch, so it also didn’t taste like anything either. I hadn’t had it before but the friends we were with who frequent here often said it was definitely off and were disappointed with it. (It also made a huge mess because it just slide off the chips)
My husband ordered tacos, which came with enough lettuce and cheese for one taco (and that’s with being stingy with toppings and not overloading the taco). Where you normally get a huge plate of toppings at any other restaurant (enough for 3 tacos), here you get this small plate that also has your rice and beans on it. My husband politely asked for more lettuce. Waitress brings it. Still really not enough for two more tacos, but he makes it work. We get the bill. We were charged 2.50$ for a small plate of shredded lettuce. Yes 2.50!! I understand if you don’t want to give more lettuce for free even though it was a topping that was supposed to be with the dish but that’s just ridiculous. If you received a reasonable amount of toppings for 3 tacos, it wouldn’t be an issue. For what they already charge for their dishes (what I consider at least a few dollars higher than other comparable restaurants), you get less food.
I asked for sour cream (which did not come with my meal) so I did expect to pay for it. However, she brought me more than I asked for (cheese and other stuff) and quickly charged me for all of it even though I just asked for sour cream. Our bill was over $5 more because of all of it.
One positive: husband and friends said the margaritas were well-made and seemed to enjoy those.
However, with the amount of other Mexican restaurant options in the area, we won’t be returning. Save your time and money and go...

So my wife ordered pollo asado tacos which were $18.99 and literally had no meat on the taco like im not lying it literally had a spoon scoop of chicken for 3 tacos and the corn taco was so soggy she just put the meat in the bowl where they give you the lightest toppings for your tacos and just basically made a bowl out of that now let me get to my order i ordered the $19.99 mix n match trio tacos i got the shrimp tacos which had 3 pieces of shrimp on it i was so mad 😡 and agian people we placed our order inside the place we dindt doordash it we did pickup then i ordered a ground beef taco it literally tasted like taco bell meat im not lying and it was less of a scoop then taco bell would give you i was even madder about that now for my 3rd taco i ordered a chicken taco it like chinese food chicken with no seasoning or anything the chicken was white i now dont even think it was fully cooked and for it to look the way it looked they literally gave a small scoop of that too so then to finalize my order i asked for salsa verda and there spicy red sauce both were terribly nasty and came up to $4.00 for 2 sauces in total we spent $54.00 and my stomach hasnt felt the same since you guys should be disgraced to call yourselves a Mexican restaurant taco bell taste better then this and im talking about the worst taco bell at that and on top of that to have the name conco de mayo as the restaurant name is a tad bit racist to your on kind im a minority and ive never been more disappointed in food in my life.
