Went there because it was close to the hotel I am staying at. However I should have driven farther. I sat at the bar to eat figuring that the beer was closer and wouldn't take long for it to be served. Bartender was so engrossed in a conversation he began the pour and forgot all about me and my beer that was half poured. 10 minutes later the beer arrived all from about 6 feet away from me. I then placed an order for food from the lunch special menu where they had a BBQ steak for $11.99. I thought that was a good deal and the bartender said it was great. He quickly ran the bill through the computer and served that up to me long before the food arrived. I noticed the price and noticed that he decided to up-charge for ordering waffle cut sweet potato fries that I never ordered. Sketchy at the very least. When the meal came the fries that I paid an additional fee for were cold. Now normally when you order a steak that is BBQ'd it is grilled on a BBQ. However, this BBQ steak was covered in BBQ sauce????? What type of place puts BBQ sauce on a steak? The type that wants to cover over the quality and taste. As a former Judge for the American Royal BBQ, I know what BBQ sauce should go on and its not a steak. As far as the beer, the stout was good and would be the only thing that I recommend...
Read moreThis was my first trip to Boston (for the Pats/Bucs game). My son and I stayed at the Hilton right next door and decided to go in for food. We walked inside and felt like we were on display. Even though my son is well developed, he still has a noticeable 13 year old baby face. That being said, the young lady asked if we wanted to sit at the bar. After getting booth seats and still being watched, our server arrived and now the “fun” starts. Our appetizers came out with our food (no one else’s did), I ordered boneless buffalo chicken that arrived with the bone, I ordered a chicken quesadilla and got vegetable (I can’t eat mushrooms), I ordered well done burgers and they were rare. Throughout our stay, I watched our server check on all the other tables around us and never checked on ours. I said excuse me every time but she never stopped. She even turned her head or looked down to avoid eye contact. When she finally did stop I just asked her for the check. I received notice from my bank that a transaction was made for the bill but she came back to the table and quickly asked for another form of payment because it didn’t go through. I showed her the message and then she went and got my receipt. What would you think? I’ll never go back since I didn’t feel welcomed in the first place. Why...
Read moreI frequented this place over the weekend seeing as it was the only business in walking distance from my hotel. Upon entry I knew it wasnt a place for me alone (a black woman) based on the sea of white faces who turned and looked at me like I was an alien. I'm sure it was just my beauty that startled them. However the 3rd night I went in for a drink and the wine glasses were dirty. You could feel a layer of crust on the stem of glass and a we held them up to the light we saw stain around the glass. We decided we weren't going to die and decided to order another. The wine was fine, the glasses were the issue. The bartender didn't seem to want to spend more than 2 seconds at our table and walked away before I could answer his question fully...every time That stopped me from wanting to order food items or stay any longer. I knew I was out of place but I didn't want to FEEL IT. I was on a work trip and it wasnt my choice to stay in that area. However, now I know it isn't an are very welcoming of people of color .... specifically black and...
