The Whip — Restaurant in Westfield

I have never received such atrocious service in my life. We came in with a party of about 12, the waitress failed to inform us that there was only 1 cook until over an hour after we had placed orders. One meal came out undercooked which is wild for a calzone to be undercooked. The useless older male employee spent his time sitting at the bar drinking beers and served drinks once in a blue moon. When he was asked by the waitress how to remove something from the POS system, he replied “I don’t do that technology crap you’ll have to wait 45 minutes for name to get here”. Pathetic, clearly the staff aren’t trained. We waited over an hour past ordering for any of the food to come out, and ended up leaving at the hour and 45 mark past ordering when 4 of us were still waiting on food. Not to mention there was a whopping 2-3 other guests in the building during this time, not busy at all. You’d think on game day you’d be wise enough to put on more staff, or train your team to inform larger parties there may be a wait as you only have one cook at the very least. Not worth it for the mediocre excuse of bar food, not worth it to have to walk up to the bar for another beer and STILL wait upward of 10 minutes. As I arrived here, a snow storm began, I felt relieved to rush inside to wait it out but did not realize I was carrying an expired license, I must have grabbed the wrong purse, I had just renewed. Anyway, the security guards who look-barely over 18 told me that I was “illegal” and would be criminally putting the bar at risk and was forced to leave, standing there wondering if he was discriminating against me because of who I was or what it said on the ID was debatable. But I stood there and I watched them let 10 people in without checking their ID’s. He gave me excuses after the first few and decided that I wait outside, I told him my ride is 40 minutes away, there are delays because of the roads. “I really have to stand in this storm?” This felt like abuse, I remained calm and asked again to stand at the door. My review is base on lunch time. The time was around 12:30. The only person working was a bartender. I had to approach her to ask about ordering food and drinks, we had to seat ourselves. Once we put in our order our beers were brought over. Around 10 min later I was told that the cook said that they had no meatballs. So I decided to order a tuna melt. Again I was told that they had no tunafish. I decided to play it safe and order what my partner had ordered. Seeing that they had steak grinders on hand. The pandemic strikes again. Hard to get workers that want to do a good job. I was approach by the owner asking how my meal was. I told him not having 2 things that I ordered did not make it a nice time. He in turn blamed the new cook for not being able to find the items. Hope yourvisit goes better. I'll give it another go...
