People with food allergies PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

I’ve been to this restaurant on and off with my family for many years at this point. I’ve always enjoyed the food at the Westwood Pub because I can have gluten free options.

On August 26th, 2023 during the early afternoon, my husband and I got the bourbon tip salad for our lunch. Like normal, I specifically said I needed it gluten free. The food came out and I asked again if mine was gluten free to make sure since my husband got the same thing. The hostess thought they were both made gluten free. We both nodded, she walked away and we both started eating. After several bites, the hostess came running back and asked if I ate any of my food yet. I said yes. She told me the bourbon sauce used in my dish was NOT gluten free.

I sat in silence and was absolutely fuming. Eating gluten means I will have stomach pain and discomfort for at least a couple of days. I sat in silence while my husband got his lunch put into a to-go box. They took the meals off our bill, but the damage was already done and we quietly left.

Amazing Experience! After not seeing each other for almost 2 years, a couple of us decided to have a "reunion" to reconnect. We chose the Westwood Restaurant & Pub because it has always been a proven winner of amazing service and for their outstanding quality of meals. Last night proved to be the exceptional experience we all craved. Our group of 27 people were treated to an amazing dinner and lots of fun and laughter which we all so desperately needed. I met with Tracy in advance to go over the details of the reunion and she far exceeded our expectations! Everything was perfect! The private room we were in was beautifully decorated and our two servers were amazing. Tracy made sure our every request was followed right down to the smallest detail. The timing was perfect! Kudos to the chef who somehow managed to have 27 different dinners hot and ready and served all at once. I think it is rare to have EVERYONE rave about not only the quality of the dinners but also the service. They didn't miss a beat! The food here is just OK. The menu hasn't changed in years, and it is getting old !! They are the only decent restaurant left in town for a "nicer type restaurant" but, I think they know this, & therefore, complacency has set in ! If they're not going to upgrade the decor, then at least upgrade the menu for gosh sake. People are changing the way they eat today, & want healthier choices, which there aren't any on their menu. Plus being the only "somewhat fancy" place in Westfield, there's nothing gourmet about the preparation of food here. When we go out to a nice place, we want food that we can't prepare at home ... something worth paying for ! Plus every restaurant should be different from the others ... don't offer the same choices as every restaurant in town !! If you want biz/customers waiting in line to get in, offer what no other in town does, prepare it like we can't at home, and offer healthy choices (paleo), def more desserts, and more kid food too !!!
