This wasn’t our first visit here and I do have to say it’s been consistently below standard. While the cocktails and appetizers were great. That’s where it ends I had ordered the lamb chops I asked for them rare , my wife the swordfish and my mother the linguini and clams. As our entrees were being delivered and served. My mother was served first than my wife , their dishes look great to the eye and smelled delicious, lastly I was served and I could t believe what I had on my plate. 3 lamb chops that were less than appetizer size ( no more larger than a half dollar. ( I wish I took a picture ). I couldn’t believe it. I looked over at my wife and asked her where the rest was ? Being it was my wife’s birthday and I had my mother with me I decided to take the high road and just deal with it. I cut into the first chop and it was so over done it was drier than a piece of toast. I cut into the second and at least it was pink inside and the third was cooked to my asking but had so much fat on it I had to chew on the bone to get any meat . The server came over and asked if ever was fine... I at first hesitated but did mention they were over cooked. She offered to have new ones recooked but I declined as I didn’t want to wait for the new ones. The manager finally came over and said that he would take care of it and not to worry. He also offered to recook new ones again I declined by this time we were almost done with our meals. He ( the manger ) offered if we wanted their warm butter cake at no charge. We thanked him for the offer. As we finished up our dinner I decided to try some of the broth my mothers dinner was made with. It was so salty and flavorless I don’t know how she managed to eat her dinner without saying anything. When I say salty... it was like drinking a glass of salt water. Thank goodness my wife did say her fish was ok. As the server cleared our table we declined any after dinner service but she insisted that we have free dessert on the manager. We were not really in the mood for dessert but it was already served. The to die for butter cake was just alright. We received the bill and to my surprise the manger lived up to his promos and took care of “it “ alright. He paid for the dessert. Yep. That’s right. Just the dessert we really didn’t want in the first place. I don’t mind paying for quality food at any restaurant however I do have a serious problem paying 42.00 for lamb chops that were over cooked and so small that I could compare them In size to a chicken nugget from McDonald’s. Not sure but perhaps a bit of quality control might help the situation. As well as a new meat purveyor or move items off your dinner menu when they are not of the proper entree portions. The only reason I’m giving two stars is for their service, at least our server was attentive...
Read moreWhat a disappointment! I would give Mediterraneo one star, but the food was very good. We met a family member here at his recommendation. We arrived 45 minutes early for our reservation which worked out well so we could have a cocktail at the bar. The hostess asked us upon arrival if we still wanted the booth that was requested in our reservation, we said yes. When our table was ready we were sat at a table next to the doors leading to the patio.. not a booth and a constant stream of servers and patrons walking past to get to the patio - what a terrible table! Every time the patio doors were open we got a nice blast of cold air from outside. I went up to the hostess and asked if we could move to another table as this wasn't a booth and was in a main traffic area. She was very condescending and snarky saying they cannot guarantee any reservation request.. ok then why did you bother asking when we checked in? If she would have told us when she told us our table was ready that it wasn't a booth that would have given us the opportunity to decide if we wanted to wait or not and not give up our seats at the bar. She said another table would be at least 25 more minutes, at this point the bar was 3 people deep and I didn't want to wait outside. We stayed in the table. Our server was terrible, he never introduced himself, came to our table and asked what we wanted like we were at a fast food restaurant. I had to ask what the specials were, he said "we only have 2 left so it doesn't really matter." He zoomed back and forth and paid little to no attention to us. My husband sat with no drink for over 20 minutes before we stopped him to ask if we could order a glass of wine. The food was good, we had 2 appetizers (Shrimp Milano was 5 small shrimp and very overpriced, but so tasty!), 3 entrees & dessert. Last thing, if you spend $300+ on dinner for 3 people it would be nice if the restaurant would validate parking, but they don't so it was $7. Small thing, but just one more disappointment. I know this is a long review but the service from the hostess and server was so terrible I would never recommend Mediterraneo to anyone, too many other wonderful restaurants with...
Read moreMy fiancé and I dined here a couple of times. I will start off with our last visit, as this really made us feel unwelcome. We purchased a few bottles of wine (thanks to Tim) at Stonehaus for our group and we were looking for a table, but all were taken due to an Oktoberfest event. We walked the property and waited for Mediterraneo to open so that we can get a couple of tables in the patio area. As soon as we walked in, Luciano, who seems to be the manager had this horrible attitude towards us. We sat down on two tables in the patio and with a demeaning voice/ attitude and stare he asked us what we were there for and we stated we were there to have dinner. We asked Luciano for his name and position, he then gave us his name and turned back to a server and asked, what do I here? Then he proceeded to look at us with a smirk and a condescending voice and stated, "I'm the director here". After we were seated, Luciano began to tell us, we can't join the tables, in which we never tried to as I had previously spoken to Ashley, and she informed me of this a few days before.
We ordered appetizers, main course dishes and desserts for our party and our server Blanka was SOOOO AMAZINGLY nice, kind, helpful, hospitable, which is a complete stark contrast to Luciano! I ordered the short rib pappardelle and unfortunately it was on the salty side. Although, the fritto misto, pizza and desserts were all delicious.
My fiancé and I were standing by the bar area and Luciano came up to us both and told us to move, which was utterly rude and insulting. He then mentioned if we were leaving, and we told him we hadn't finished our dessert.
It really takes an insecure and bitter person to behave this way and Mediterraneo needs to replace Luciano as the only thing he is doing is losing customers. I highly suggest you avoid this...
