My first Food / Restaurant post and Hong Hong Restaurant gets a 5 star from me and my family . Wow !!! Delicious . I’m getting work done in my home and wanted to treat the contractor and his crew for lunch . Everthing was delicious . Giant portions . They overfill it and have to use stapler to staple it close . I have tried many Chinese restaurants being Chinese myself . Let me tell you Hong Kong beats them all and I’m serious . I ordered the Ex Large special request chicken & BbQ pork fried rice . I requested the extra large orange chicken . It’s amazing , had the right amount of spice and wok fire to it . I love how they minced up small pieces of real orange peal in it . This really sets it apart from other orange chickens I had . You won’t be disappointed , these people don’t skimp you on the protein in dishes or portion size ever . You will have plenty of left overs . The sweet sour chicken pieces , egg rolls , pot stickers and the incredible big fresh Crab Rangoons is the best in the world to me and left overs come out great in the air fryer crispy and fresh . Again , I’ve had some not good ones in this area and never go back . Some people I see mentioned the price but for us big eaters. My boys are tweens and they can eat . A half order or small size which is a bursting overfilled pint and comes with good portion of rice easily feeds two hungry kids or adults . The large size comes with even more rice and really can feed 3-4 people especially if you get a few other orders to go with it . We have ordered their half pan catering trays . The best deal and quality and freshness around . Everything is made fresh . Other places they make all their appetizers and egg foo young patties and freeze it . Don’t get me started on Their egg foo young patties always made fresh . They don’t mess with making it weeks in advance and freezing it like some places . They are giant , fluffy and the gravy is delish . I can go on for pages . I have probably tried everything on the menu and honestly it is all excellent . What I love about these wonderful hardworking family who has own this business for so long is they are so kind and generous and so happy to see customers come in and order . They really care about their customers showing to work often 14 hour days to do prep work , clean up and cook for everyone . The owners have been cooking for 40 plus years originally located exactly where Peggy Kinnane’s Irish restaurant now . If you go inside , there is a picture of the original Hong Kong restaurant . It has become a historic landmark !! Poor owners lost everything and $$$ money they put in the business when their landlord did not renew their lease and profited from the developers buying building . They restarted over at this Westgate center now for close to 25 years . Go in and support these hardworking people . Share with your neighbors and friend . There is history to...
Read moreAbsolutely LOVE Hong Kong Restaurant! They have always been incredibly attentive to their customers, and passionate about their food, for many years now. This has been apparent ever since we (as a family/extended family) first started ordering from them. Even when we order different items other than our "norm", they still recognize my dad when he goes to pick up the food. That type of familiarity is always appreciated in a neighborhood restaurant. The staff is also incredibly observant of any substitutions or changes on standard orders. We, as a family, love this since certain members need to be gluten free or other restrictions etc and Hong Kong has zero problems accommodating that. It is wonderful! Honestly, I could go on and on, but all you really need to know is that you will NOT be disappointed when you order from here... and will soon be made to feel like family from the staff!
PS- MY go to order is the Cashew Chicken, extra cashews and extra sauce. Plus, as always, the delightful...
Read moreI went here recently for the first time. We got two lunch specials and soup. My husband got the lo mein, which was great. They use the thin lo mein noodles, which I think are better. The lunch also came with a tasty egg roll. I got the Kung pao chicken. Plenty of chicken, veggies and peanuts. He got egg drop soup. They make their egg drop soup with chicken in it. I would like that if I liked egg drop soup, but my husband said he could have done without it. I thought it was a nice option to have included. I had the wonton soup. It took extra time because I was told they make it fresh, which got my attention. Along with the meat filled wontons, the soup also had slices of pork, I think there may have been chicken in there too. There was also cabbage and carrots. I liked it a lot. All of the food was good. The lady who helped me was very polite and thanked me more than once for coming in. The inside is small but it's done cute and it all looked very clean and orderly, which I appreciated....
