Player's Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Wheeling Township

I actually drove by this place for years and never ventured inside, so it was nice to meet there with several friends for dinner.

It's a lot larger than it seems from the outside. They have a large outdoor seating area with its own counter and bar area. Half of the inside is a dining room, the middle is counter bar service, and the other side is a sports book with a lot of large TVs to watch horse racing and other sporting events. There are TVs all around the restaurant, so we could watch various sports going on that evening.

On the night we went, ten wings were nine bucks and you can select two sauces or dry rubs.

They were also doing some drink specials and drinks weren't expensive either. We also shared cheese curds and pretzel bites before we all ordered wings.

The curds were curds. The problem with cheese curds is that if they're not super hot, they're just meh. I get that businesses make good money from them, but ugh, not a great item to order.

The pretzel bites are fine as well. They were okay. Again, not an issue with Player's Pub, it's just the nature of these two different appetizers.

Anyway, I got the wings special with a side of tots and ranch and included a side salad.

The salad was a nice size and was fresh. I really didn't expect, well, I didn't know what to expect, but it was a good salad. The ranch is good, too. They have a great ranch game. And was a perfect sauce to dip my tots in. The wings were very good too. I got the hot honey and the bourbon-bacon sauces on my wings. The wings were meaty, juicy, and flavorful. They had a bunch of sauces and I would definitely order them again and try of their other sauces.

I'm also part of a burger club, and they have several burgers on their menu, so we'll have to come back to try their burgers.

Our server was also very attentive, constantly checking on us and refilling our drinks. We'll definitely be back to Player's Pub and catch a game and grab...

The very first time I ever went there, I had just moved in with my Daughter and my Son-in-law, and they said, put on a nice outfit, we're going out for a little bit, so I did, and that's where we went, so they were like, what do you want to drink, now mind you, I'm not big on going out, at all, I stay home every night, never go anywhere, especially to bars or club's, so I was like ok, I'll have a Rum and Coke, w/a twist of Lime, and usually anytime I've ordered that, they weren't that good, but when I tasted theirs, it was actually great, so I started drinking my drink, and my Son-in-law was like, come over here and check this out, well I went over there, and I was so excited when I seen the Video Poker Machines, I love playing those, I hadn't played on those in a long time, so he's like pick a machine, sit down, and drink your drink, he handed me some money, and said here, play the game, and have fun. I have to say, I had a great night there, and have gone back a few time's, and I always have a great time when I go there. They have Live Bands on Saturday night's, they have a Dance Floor, they have great drink's, they serve Top Shelf Alcohol, and OMG, they have fantastic food, they have a big smoking area out front, and out back, they have a big, fenced in area, with table's, so you can sit outside, they have a big, green, like fake grassy area, where you can play games outside, I guess, I know that they definitely have that Bean Bag Toss Game, where you throw the Bean Bags at this wooden box, with a hole in it, and obviously, duh, the object, is to get the Bean Bags into the hole, it's pretty fun, I know that you can go there to practice, I think it's like one night a week, and then one night/day, they have tournaments there, or out of there, idk. Go check it out, I don't think you'll be sorry, at all, so have fun...

Horrible atmosphere and attitude, they need to get their bartenders act together, I went 3 times this week having to drive for an hour only to get disappointed, they will waste your time and money, I asked the bartender 2 times today to give me a drink and the first time she acted like she didn't see me and made me wait an eternity, the second time I raised my hand she told me to wait with a non friendly hand signal and face, I waited to see why she was acting like that because it didn't make sense since I was being polite and nice, I was dressed better than most at this place.

completely ignored me and never came back to serve me, not a friendly or welcoming service towards men in general. I come all the way here because close to this location is where the good bars are and to have a good time, not to make my life miserable. I don't understand why I came last Saturday and was only attended by one non friendly bartender that I didn't want to be served by and I came today and almost %100 of the time I was served by the same bartender I didn't feel comfortable with, when they have more bartenders available. Last Friday I gave Nicole the bartender a $10 tip on the receipt and she never charged it, is this place even trying to keep good customers coming back?? Or trying to make money because it's not working. The first time I came last Friday the manager seemed friendly I was hoping the manager would serve me but was gone completely after being served by today's staff I really don't recommend this place to any men at all, go somewhere else where your time and effort is...
