Slab City Sammies — Restaurant in Whidbey Island

Ugh, yum! We’ve been multiple times now and everything is so good! My favorite is the classic turkey (the cranberry mayoli is to die for) and my husband likes a variety of others but especially the tuna melt!!!

Also wanted to note that their service is great. I called exactly at 10:30am when they opened to place a order (ya girl was starving okay 🤣) and it kept ringing so I hung up and figured I’d try again in a few minutes since I called right on the dot when they opened, no biggies. They actually called me back within a minute! Love that. They were happy to take my order and it was ready in 15 minutes. Oak harbor needed a place like this! Our go-to sandwich place. This is a walk up window. Great, friendly staff. My hubby had the roasted veggie soup & ham sandwich. The soup was LOADED with veggies & very hardy. The cup size is smaller, but seeing how loaded the soup is, should help make up for it. His ham sandwich was so fresh & had a good amount of meat. I had the pastrami. Was filled with about an inch on meat, lots of cheese, & the tomatoes were ripe. The bread was soft & fresh & thick. The meat was fresh & smokey flavored. Some of the best I've had. I loved the sandwich wasn't dry but also not even slightly soggy even after we drove home to eat. I would say Slab City Sammies is a good food to money value. For basically the same price you'd spend for fast food, you can get an incredibly fresh sammie! The arugula is crisp and sharp, the meat is perfectly marinated, the sauces are always the right touch.
