My three criteria for a good restaurant are service, food, and atmosphere. I originally gave this place high marks. My brother and I go to breakfast once or twice a week. When we find a good place, it becomes the place to go. We thought in the beginning that this was the place. And for a while, it was, charming, small town cafe. But when the novelty wore off we were seeing what this place really was. They definitely need a new cook or cooks, doesn't even know how to make eggs, any kind of way. Doesn't know how to cook goetta either. One very irritating thing is that they have air vents in the floor under almost every table that blast cold air on top of the fact that they keep it freezing in there. Another irritating thing is that they only server breakfast until 10:30 but you can order a burger with goetta and an egg after 1030, which doesn't make sense. Service was ok in the beginning. I don't know if it's the owner or friends or family, but they come in with their kids, and they run around, climbing on things, treating it like their living room. The last straw was one of the servers had an attitude and became rude and argumentative and on the way back from our table made snide comments to another server as they both looked at us. So as you can see they failed in all three categories. Will definitely never be back!
I received a reply to my review from the owner. And instead of a legitimate apology, I got a condescending arrogant insult. First of all, this wasn't the first time that PHIL heard about his cooking. Second, I don't care who those kids were, nor do I care about your daycare problems. And in the winter, a person doesn't want to be blasted by hot air any more than he does about cold. Ya know! And, for your information, I did SPEAK UP about it being too cold but was told that that was the temperature that it had to be kept at. Also, there wasn't a miscommunication with the server. She was downright rude and insulting, which seems to me that it comes from the top. Being rude is not an accident! There won't be any second chance. All this did was to inspire me as to how many people I will certainly tell about my experience. So, I won't be popping my head into the kitchen to tell PHIL how I want my goetta and...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Ari and Mia's Small Town Cafe, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The cafe's rustic decor and charming ambiance added to the overall charm of the place.
Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the Goetta Grippos Grilled Cheese, and it was nothing short of amazing. The combination of the flavorful goetta, crispy Grippo's potato chips, and gooey melted cheese was absolutely heavenly. The sandwich was grilled to perfection, with the bread nicely toasted and the cheese perfectly melted. Each bite was a burst of flavors that left me craving for more. It's safe to say that this sandwich will be etched in my memory for a long time.
Apart from the outstanding grilled cheese sandwich, Ari and Mia's Small Town Cafe also offers a variety of other mouthwatering options. The menu is diverse, with options to suit every taste and preference. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or a quick snack, you'll find something delicious to satisfy your cravings.
The service at Ari and Mia's Small Town Cafe was top-notch. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and ensure that I had a pleasant dining experience.
In addition to the fantastic food and excellent service, the prices at Ari and Mia's Small Town Cafe were reasonable. Considering the quality of the ingredients and the flavorsome dishes they serve, I found the prices to be quite fair.
Overall, I highly recommend Ari and Mia's Small Town Cafe. It's a hidden gem that offers a cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and most importantly, incredible food. If you find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by for a meal. And don't forget to try the Goetta Grippos Grilled Cheese—it's an absolute must-try!
The only negative thing that I can say is that the space is small and they could definitely use more seating and parking to grow...
Read moreI really really wanted to love this place, but I just can't. READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE MENU BEFORE ORDERING. First, the positives. Food was absolutely delicious! I had a Mushroom and Swiss. Loads of mushrooms and gooey cheese. Fries were piping hot (which is a struggle for some restaurants who just hold a bunch of fries under a heat lamp and they get cold and soggy really fast), the special seasoning, lemon pepper, was a delightful twist. Service was really really good. Never had an empty cup on the table. I feel bad I didn't catch the server's name to give her appropriate praise.
The negatives are not numerous but HUGE. If you choose to alter ANYTHING on your chosen dish, be prepared for extra charges for everything. I get it, adding garden to a burger isn't free for the restaurant, so a small fee is understandable. However, when my husband approached the owner after we finished our meal and paid with feedback on how to maybe better apply it to the menu so people don't get sticker-shock with a $28 Burger and not lose money on food cost, he was very rude and condescending and told my husband "it says it right here on the menu, it's been this way for 6 years and haven't had any problems yet". Well apparently, after reading the many reviews, others have had the very same issue whenever this owner was approached about anything that isn't positive. Absolutely nobody is perfect and you cannot grow or improve without feedback. Be respectful and care about all of your guests, not just the happy ones. Not many will give you a second chance after being spoken to in that manner, myself included. It is such a shame because this truly is a little gem of a place and our food was delicious....
