It can be hit or miss. Sometimes the food is spot on. Sometimes the food is a ten! Other times the food is burnt up or gross. So honestly the food is a gamble. But when this place nails your meal. Totally worth it. On average one out of three times here, is spot on. One is burnt. One will be ok enough to not starve. They used to be number one for 'take-out' family meal, that had everything. Pizza, chicken, salad & gyros. Like it was a sure go to. Then over the years. Things have changed. Now it is a gamble. I still order periodically. A large order for pickup. Because you hope it will be a good night. Sometimes I get lucky. This last time. The pizza was burned up and the chicken was mushy. Normally I try to give everyone amazing reviews. But it has been like this for two years now and the prices are not cheap. So you would expect some consistency in their meals. Not best one out of three. Back in their hay day, they had an amazing gyro dinner. My family would get gyros, pizza, chicken and greek salads. So good every time. Unfortunately now after this last time. It will be a while before I order here again. And no I didn't bother driving all the way back to complain. I used to work in food service. They go through to many orders to pay attention to the small details like burning your pizza or dried gyro meat... Sadly I know that they can pump out twenty great meals in a row and your basically unlucky if you get the dried burnt one. Easier to make a sandwich and throw away the burnt pizza & mushy chicken. Then tell yourself try a different place & wait a few months before you try here again. Maybe next time I gamble I'll get lucky. Seriously there was a time they were absolutely amazing every time you placed a large order for pickup. Like their pizza was 100% perfect, the gyro meat wasn't dried, the greek salad always crisp and bursting with fresh flavors and their fried chicken was the perfect crispy fried deliciousness and their own recipes for everything. I miss when they were a sure go to. Perhaps I'll try again...
Read moreStopped in for dinner on a Saturday night only because Fanatico across the street was on a 30 min wait. Came in and was pleasantly surprised by the interior decor as I wasn't expecting much from a place called Gus' pizza palace. We sat down and ordered pepperoni bread sticks for an app and the 2, two topping medium pizzas for $12.95 special each adding one extra topping at a cost of $2.00 each extra topping. We waited a good 20-25 min for the appetizer to come out and it was simply disgusting. All it was is double pizza dough topped with pepperoni and cheese. The crust was so dense it was difficult to chew and they just tasted gross!. The appetizer wasn't on the table for 5 minutes and sure enough, here comes the pizza. When I told the waitress my excitement for the dinner coming right on top of the appetizer, she shrugged her shoulders and said; sorry we're busy. The pizza was ok, not the best but definitely not the worst I've ever had; doctored up with salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese it was not bad. Would be nice if they would add some spice or zing to the recipe but touche. Will I come back? Not likely but at least the dining...
Read moreI am from out of town and I ordered a chicken dinner with cheesy garlic bread. The delivery guy was very nice and arrived very qickly. But the food was horrible. For cheesy garlic bread, they gave me a slab of hard pizza dough with a blob of cheese on top. The chicken was overcooked and was totally dried out along with potato wedges that were so soggy with grease that it just fell apart. Also part of this "Dinner" was poorly made Cole slaw and some applesauce. Applesauce? I contacted the manager and told him how disappointed I was with the food and he told me that because I ate it there was nothing he could do about it. I told him I hadn't eaten anything but a piece of the overcooked chicken and a few pieces of the so called garlic bread. But he still refused to refund my money. If the people of this town consider this good food then they have been extremely neglected and I feel...
