Candle Club — Restaurant in Wichita

Several months ago, we were tasked with finding a location for a surprise birthday party for my mother. We wanted a special experience, with great food...but where to go? We'd kicked around ideas for locations, but one evening while we were sitting at the bar in the Candle Club discussing options, we saw a group of people head back to Ted's Room. Wait...what?!? Duh...of course! The Candle Club! We checked with Bart that evening and learned that, as members, we have free use of the event rooms and Ted's Room was open the night we needed! The experience that we had with the Candle was fantastic and everyone that we worked with to plan the event was beyond helpful! When we arrived, the room was set up with a fire in the fireplace, beautiful fall decorations on the mantle and centerpieces on every table. The buffet that we chose, The Sinatra, was delicious and well presented. The very best part of the experience was the service provided to our entire family by Sarah and Marissa! They were both amazing...both incredibly friendly, helpful, prompt. I felt like they were focused on personal service only to me...but they were really providing the same level of focus to each person in our group! Thank you, again, to the Candle Club, Bart, Marissa and Sarah! We strongly recommend The Candle for events like this and will use them, again, when we have a party like this.

By the way...the surprise party was a huge success! Mom thought she and Dad were there for a quiet dinner for the four of us, but she walked through the door to Ted's Room to find thirty family members and friends waiting for her! Bartenders are amazing. Friendly, attentive and personable. Unfortunately, there is one staff member that has ruined both of my last two visits. I understand then need to have customers out in a timely fashion at closing time. As a former bar owner, I understand the laws and ABC regulations. This woman, unfortunately, is so incredibly rude about it, it just sours the entire experience. No idea what her name is; she doesn't evoke an approachable attitude that would encourage getting to know her. Glasses, dark hair, and seems to be a Supervisor/Manager. I'd love to give a better review; I really love the atmosphere and staff. Her demeanor is just atrocious. There's better ways to handle clientele that are paying to have an enjoyable experience. This isn't a dive bar by any means, but her approach certainly makes it...

"Old Wichita Money" is how I have heard this club described on multiple occasions. Sometimes this old Wichita money crowd does seem to feel entitled over an average Joe's. A local legend known by many hidden off the beaten path and tucked away. Easy access off both Central and 13th this Oldie Goldie is upscale dining in a casual club atmosphere. Polite staff who will quickly learn your name and serve you your favorites from memory. Some of the best made beverages served with a smile, you will never want for anything.
