I know this is a review for food but unfortunately the only review I can give is for the water we got at Chisolm American Beef and Ale House. It was cold and refreshing. That's it. So my gf and I had reservations at 6:30 for the valentines day special menu. We arrived about 5 minutes early and was seated right away. A server came right over and said he'd be right back with a couple glasses of water. After about 15 minutes of waiting I asked him if he was still bringing us our waters as he was leaving the table behind us. He apologized and said he would be right back. That was the last I saw of him for quite some time. The hostess that seated us was taking other guests to their table and noticed we haven't been helped yet so she came over and got us our waters and took our order (this was almost an hour after we got there) and we asked for the drink menu. She said she would be right back with it. She brought the waters but no drink menu. So I flagged down another waitress and asked for the drink menu so she got us one fairly quick. I also asked her how long until our food would be out but she just said I don't know. No offer to check on it or anything like that, so my gf ordered her drink and we waited around about another 15 - 20 minutes and decided to leave since it was 8pm by this time without her getting her drink or the food we ordered. The absolute worst service I've ever had anywhere. It would've been more acceptable had the restaurant been extremely busy or even had communication with us but there were lots of empty tables with no wait times and I had to keep trying to flag people down to get any help. I would have asked to speak to a manager to see if they could make it right but it was already late and we were hungry and most places were going to close soon. We ended up getting take out and just going home after a very disappointing evening. You would think that service at a place would be much better when they're charging...

I decided I'd like to have a nice dinner for my Birthday this year and choose this place. The place is beautiful. The private dinning room was beautifully set up!!! The service was not so great!! We spent between 1400 to 2000 dollars this night. I had a party of 19. Each check was over 100 dollars. Ours was almost 250 alone.. The portions of food were very small and did not taste that great. A few ppl sent there back and choose chicken strips off the kids menu. Because chicken strips are always a safe choice. Right? Wrong!!! They were very tuff and tasteless. The amount of time it took to get our checks was outrageous 46 mins. Then the wait to get all our cards back was about 30 mins. We spent 2.5 hours there. Way to much time to just eat dinner!! The server was nice but you could tell she had never had a party that big and was very overwhelmed. As bday dessert was brought out we started to sing Happy birthday and the server told all to stop singing. She wanted to sing.. oh my... I won't post the video and embarrass her but let me just say. That shouldn't ever happen again!!! Someone needs to stop this from happening next time. It was an ok experience but I wouldn't ever go back. I was disappointed!!! But the company is held made it all better!!! I love my family and friends for stick this out with me . We would of gotten better service and food at...

Let me begin by saying that the restaurant was not full but was bustling. I think there was only one or two waitresses working the entire place. She came by quickly and filled my glass of water. Then, it took almost 10 minutes for her to return and take my order. Let me continue with the positive. I started with the soft pretzels and a 22oz draft Yuengling lager. The pretzels were indeed soft and tasty. The pretzels were served with warm cheese and gourmet mustard. The beer was nice and cold. For my main course, I ordered the Bucatini Trento with a crabcake side. The crabcake had no crab in it. It tasted like a poorly made Koch Kase (and not very tasty either). My food was brought out prior to me finishing the pretzels and someone from the kitchen told the server to hold the plate. The Pasta in the Bucatini was cooked well. The wine sauce was okay. However, the grilled chicken was overcooked to the point it was dry and rubbery, and was unpalatable. If you are short staffed, don't put all the work on one or two wait staff. The restaurant sits near the lobby of the Double Tree Hotel, Wichita airport. The meal including tip was over $70. Definitely not a value for the quality of food served. I will try their breakfast tomorrow. However, I will not be returning to this...

Met a friend for dinner that was staying at the hotel. I was astounded at the prices! Cowboy ribeye, which is a bone-in ribeye, was $62. Each of us got that, my wife got the strip steak, that was $56. The quality of the meat on the ribeye that I had was grocery store grade at best. It was not tender, it was tough, and overall flavor lacking. Overall, it was probably at an Applebee's, or below level. My wife told me in the car that her strip steak was the worst steak she's ever eaten in her life. Not only was it extremely tough, it tasted borderline rotten, as if it had aged too long. In addition, much of the asparagus was woody at the bottom end of it, and inedible. Overall the meal was an extreme disappointment! I don't like leaving bad reviews but at nearly $200 for three meals, I would have expected some top end Steakhouse quality. On a positive note, the service and atmosphere was good. My friend's expense account picks up the bill when he's in town thankfully. We will not be returning.

This place has truly upgraded the dining experience! Beautiful bar with lots of tap options, with marble surfaces and TV's throughout. Dining area is open and beautifully renovated with skylights makes the room sparkle. The menu is electronic which makes browsing a lot more interesting. We were there for lunch sat at the bar, we were greeted upon entry, waited on with the right amount of attention. The meal was delightful and beautifully served. Chef James is a great addition to this hidden local gem! Can't wait to check out the happy hour menu and cocktails! More to come!

Several meals eaten and several enjoyable experiences. The staff is friendly, polite, and caring toward making the meal great. Cheerful is the way I’d describe it. Cozy fire, lots of TVs showing sports, yet a nice fancy feel to it. Plenty of food to choose from for low cost or as fancy a price as you want to get! Now I know why Mr. Chisholm held such high esteem amongst the prairie goers!
