I was really excited to try this restraunt. The decor was wonderful, the was fantastic, but the food was just meh. I ordered the fajitas, which I normally love, but this time there was alot left to be desired. The steak was tough and I could tell it was a cheap product. The vegetables were undercooked, the onions especially because they were too crunchy. The vegetables should be cooked till soft. My father joined me for the meal, he had ordered a burrito of the lunch al a carte menu. I was shocked that he only ate a 1/4 of the burrito and went back to eating the chips and salsa that were brought out at the beginning of our meal. Apparently they normally serve their burrito with red sauce, which for which he asked instead for it to be topped with queso Blanco and salsa Verde (the green sauce). It came out with cold shredded cheese on top and a extremely small side container of the salsa Verde. We agreed that the chips and salsa at the beginning were good and if we come back, next time we'll just order margaritas 🍹 and eat the chips. We saw a table next to us had ordered a margarita and this thing was huge and looked quite tasty. It's really a shame, I was rooting for Rio Grande and was really excited when we got there, but halfway thru my meal I was disappointed. I really hope they start buying better quality meats for their ingredients, it's the 1 thing a restraunt can never get cheap on and they failed to realize...
Read moreI tried this restaurant out a year & a half ago (a few times) & it was the best Mexican restaurant I’d ever had. Now, over the past year, the food has been nothing but a disappointment every time (4x). I tried it again tonight because I was hoping that the issue was the to-go service, unfortunately, that wasn’t the case! The steak tasted like it wasn’t seasoned at all, not even salt/pepper. I had to send my food back because I asked for no vegetables (onion/bell pepper) & the waitress told me that wasn’t necessary because if the description does not have onions listed, it won’t come with it (it doesn’t say onions in the description). Of course, when I got my food it was FILLED with onions. We asked if my companions order comes with a side salad, was told since it’s not in the description, it would not- so we ordered it to the side. Turns out, it does come with it, so we were charged an 3.50 for no reason, basically.
These orders weren’t cheap, $30 per person, not including extra sides added. I don’t mind paying any price for food that is worth it, but the quality of food just does not constitute these prices.
I will not be back. I will stick with the other Mexican restaurant in the area from now on (Perico’s).
Our tab for 2 people was $100 :/ Although, that did include a...
Read moreThis place is probably better than the 3 stars I gave. We've been there a few times now and each visit has been better than the prior. After our first visit, which was shortly after their opening, I really had no desire to go back. The food was presented very well, but was really lacking flavor. We waited a couple months before going back and I'm glad we did. The food on the second visit was still a little inconsistent. The main course was excellent, but the rice was still bland and the salsa was more like tomato juice. On our third visit they nailed it. Everything was excellent. The salsa was like salsa, the rice and beans had great flavor, and the main dishes were excellent as well. If they can just get consistent, I would give them 4 stars. I would say 5, but for me I really want to hold on the the 5 stars for truly exceptional experiences.
Have to add though that the service has been excellent every visit. I also really like the decore. They did a really nice job with it. I wouldn't mind a margarita on the...
