Great intimate local steakhouse. Service was on point, food was right there too and the ambiance was nothing short of intimate and cozy. All the dishes we tried were well prepared and you could tell the kitchen and wait staff were well timed. However the is one thing I desperately need to throw the warning flag on... The Brussel spot side dish. Oh my good golly gosh look out for this thing. Gordy's you have ruined Brussel sprouts for me! Deep fried but not greasy, balsamic was pungent but not overwhelming, bacon was big and bold and just as crispy. Whoever put this little gem together needs a sturdy well done handshake. I honestly will be thinking about these sprouts for days and I didn't even get to eat most of them. When you dine here do yourself and your taste buds a flavor sorry I mean favor and get your hands on these. They would pair well with everything I saw on tonight's menu and to be brutally honest I am kinda disappointed I picked the potatoes, not knocking the spuds but they just can't possibly tick all the boxes of flavor like the sprouts. Well done Gordy's staff tonight it was very much well worth the drive. Will definitely be recommending this spot for date nights or even...
Read moreI had never heard of this place before, but it's so good. Wife and I were meeting some family there and went early to grab a drink. Ended up meeting a couple of regulars and chatted with them for awhile. Bar tender(s) were friendly and joking with them and with us. Owners were involved and working the floor and back in the kitchen so you know they have a direct hand and can see things going on first hand.
Overall the atmosphere was great, and what I expect from a steakhouse. It was a little dark and could stand to be a touch brighter (reading the menus etc...) and honestly, my only complaint was that it was really warm in there. Overly warm at least on this occasion. It was Feb. 2nd, and I'm glad I wore a short sleeved shirt under my jacket.
The filet mignon was one of the best tasting I've ever had. We were at Porterhouse a few weeks prior in Little Canada, and this place was better.
That said, my sister-in-law ordered the same cut of meat and hers was a little overcooked for her liking. Mine (at medium) was perfect. Super tender.
I'd definitely would like to come back again some day for a...

Everything is good. Atmosphere is classy without being snobbish (sit by the fireplace some winter night). Every time I've been, it's been that kind of busy-not busy where there are plenty of people but it doesn't feel crowded, and you won't have any trouble having a conversation.
It's kid-friendly if your kids are well-behaved and like expensive steak (and there's always a couple of kids in here when I've gone), but I've always left my little ones at home; it's definitely more upscale than a Mr. Steak.
Food tastes great, and steaks are properly cooked to order. Seafood has always good, and there's something satisfying about a surf + turf combo. Beer selection isn't remarkable (10 beers on tap, nothing you wouldn't find elsewhere), but it's good enough, and you're here for the steaks, anyhow.
Crab cakes are good, and huge. They come two to an order...
