No 1 Restaurant — Restaurant in Williamsburg

Five months ago I wrote a review and gave this restaurant a four star review expressing my delight at the food and how this take-out is the better option out of them all. Now, I must confess I'm rather disappointed. I've since had to rescind my review and change it. If my reviews were only based on food I'd give this restaurant a one star review, however the facility is kept quite clean and it is well maintained so you can be sure you'll never get sick from the food here. Though the kitchens are clean, the food is not that great. It's since grown extra crispy, everything sticks onto or in between your teeth. The vegetables are sometimes wilted and everything lacks flavor compared to their competitors. To regain my business, they need to go back to their roots because the food tastes...

Ordered chow mein and received soggy, slimy vegetables with white rice. I figured they messed up the order with someone else’s so I reordered. Once again I got the same thing. So I called to speak with a manager because I am now almost 25 dollars down the drain. They say there isn’t a manager so I tell the person on the phone the issue. He responds by saying “lo mein is the one with the noodles.” To everyone who loves Chinese we know that both chow mein and lo mein have noodles but are just made differently. There are also photos online under this store that shows the chow mein has noodles. I've eaten here a few times, food is usually average for your standard take out spot. Tonight I called in an order about 5 minutes before my 10 min trip to pick it up, nothing crazy gen tso chicken, and egg drop soup. Now it was busy, however over an hour after paying, I had to remind the kid behind the counter I was still waiting on my order. 5 min he replies, has the chef who is finally getting it off the weeds make the chicken. Then puts the egg rolls, and soup that have been sitting on the counter for over 30 minutes in my bag and says, sorry. A phrase I heard said to everyone who left before me.... to much food dying on cold counters... process needs major work.

I will say that the food was pretty good first night. At least I didn't have to wait for bad...
