This is the buffet that every buffet in America should be!
My son and I visited Emzara's Buffet on the recommendation from my sister and her husband after they had visited The Ark Encounter. We ate dinner around 5:30 PM. There was plenty of room to sit despite the time of day. The tables are all put together in long rows so we ended up sitting next to a very nice elderly couple. The chairs are surprisingly heavy but very comfortable.
The food, every single item we tried, had an amazing flavor. I started out with a piece of fried chicken (white meat), which was tender, juicy, and had the most amazing flavor I've experienced. I don't know what spices they're using, but I can only say to keep on doing it! I also tried 2 BBQ meatballs. My son selected the pot roast and mashed potatoes. When he bit into each of them, he was so amazed by the flavors that I wish I'd taken a picture of his expression. He literally stopped eating and let the food rest in his mouth.
A long time ago, I stopped thinking that mashed potatoes could have a great flavor or that pot roast would fall apart on the plate and have such an incredible mix of vegetables, juice, and tender meat, but that is exactly what we experienced. (I "stole" a piece of his pot roast and tried a sample of his mashed potatoes.) I was so astounded at how rich and flavorful the food was that I went back for seconds and selected pot roast, mashed potatoes, and a dinner roll. Did I mention how delicious the dinner role was? I could spend another two sentences commenting on that, but I will only say that I can hardly wait to return.
There were about 15 desserts to select from but they had a cherry cobbler (of sorts) and a white chocolate truffle bread pudding. What a way to top off dinner!
The servers and staff were top notch, polite, and very efficient. The restaurant was very clean and well organized and we had no problem, despite the time of day, finding a place to sit.
I intentionally avoided eating or snacking during my visit inside The Ark Encounter so I would be hungry for Emzara's Buffet, and I'm glad I did. I'll be sure to be good and hungry next time I visit...
Read moreSo today I came here for lunch it was not very good. When we came they had lines outside the building. After about 10 minutes in line we finally made it to the front BUT a group of like 20 already paid online so they cut everybody in line and still got to get in. Then we paid for are food. It was a little expensive but it was fine. The cashier took forever to give are change back. We then grabbed a plate and got are food. For me there was not a lot of food I would eat here. So for my first plate I got chicken tenders, white rice, corn dogs and garlic breadsticks. The chicken tenders were stale and very dry the rice was ok. The rice got cold very fast. The corn dogs were hard on the outside and a little burnt. But I loved the garlic breadsticks. When I came back the second time to get food I couldn't so I tried asking the staff were the plates were. I asked the staff he just looked at me for like 1 second and then pretended he didn't notice me there. First of all that was pretty disrespectful and second of all, all you have to do is point were the plates were. Well for my second plate I had fried pollock and garlic breadsticks. When I was coming back to my seat I saw a huge mess on the floor. The Pollock was very good. When i came back to go to the bathroom i found that the floor was dirty. And then they finally cleaned up the mess then for dessert I got oreo pie and brownie bites. The oreo pie did not even taste like oreos and the brownie bites are just a plain old lie. It was not even a brownie well I was a little disappointed about this place i looked at the worst reviews before we came her and now I can see what people are...
Read moreThis is an okay restaurant. Considering it is inside the arc encounterpark and you are paying to get into the ark encounter just to get in to be able to go to this place, plus you're being hit for another 20 bucks a person to eat here, it's just all right. The place is completely self-service. You get your food, your drinks, etc. Basically, a server will come over and greet you when you first sit down. But that's it! Once you pay, you're on your own! The buffet is quite large, and the food is pretty decent. Especially for buffet food. Don't expect anything awesome, but it is decent for buffet food. There is a wide variety of food including a large selection of vegetables which are quite good I might add. They also have breads, soups, salad bar, and meets for the carnivorous among us. I have to say that I find it kind of sadly ironic that a park that is themed around the arc which was a structure to save animals as a restaurant that serves a wide selection of animals on their meat section of their buffet. But, it is what it is, and we live in a carnivorous leaning society in the western world today. but you will find a large selection of vegetables if you are vegetated vegetarian like myself. I cannot speak to the appropriate nature of many other vegetables for vegans as I don't know what stuff is Friday in here. I do know there are other small food vendors on the property that boast of using beef tallow for their fries. But I don't know about this place. It's okay if you're in the park anyway. But it's...
