This was the first restaurant that we’ve ever visited in Willington! It definitely seemed like this was a popular local spot. We sat in the modern bar area, and it seemed like people enjoyed visiting to watch the game. We started off with a pineapple cocktail that was very strong - it definitely needed some more pineapple juice, and there was lemon mixed in which gave it kind of an odd flavor as well. For appetizers, we shared the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and the hot lips (boneless Buffalo chicken), which were both very good! I chose the chicken francaise, which was pretty good, but it was a bit watery at the bottom and I did have some bites that were colder in temperature than others. My fiancé had the Bleu cheeseburger, which he liked, but was cooked a little bit more than he would’ve preferred, and the burger and fries were pretty greasy. The servers were all attentive and friendly. I would be curious to try their breakfast, and I think this is a good spot for college students nearby to know about!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Peter Kelly — Coventry, CT Hilltop in Willington, CT is hands-down my favorite spot, and that’s largely thanks to Jess, the bartender manager. Jess is the heart and soul of the bar — at 39, she’s not only super cute, but also incredibly personable and always on top of everything. She makes you feel welcome the second you walk in, and I truly believe she’s the reason so many people keep coming back. Her service is outstanding, and she keeps the place running smoothly no matter how busy it gets. Evan, part of the team, is great — always friendly and professional. And Benny, the owner, deserves credit too. He clearly cares about Hilltop, putting a lot of his profits back into maintaining and improving the place so it stays comfortable and inviting. If you’re looking for a bar where you’ll feel like a regular from day one, Hilltop is it — and Jess is the reason why.

EXCELLENT! We came on a Sunday at about 5pm, it wasn't very busy but I feel that this isn't the norm. I got a Counterweight Headway and Stacy got a French Martini. Both were awesome. She said hers was strong (bonus) 😉 We were given warm rolls to start then we had salad with homemade Blue cheese dressing. Awesome Again! We had calamari for our appetizer. HUGE PORTION and very good! Stacy ordered the Drunken steak tips and I got the leg of lamb. Both were very generous portions and cooked perfectly. We were too full for desert but they have some incredible offerings! Overall it was a great experience. Our server Brittany was super friendly and attentive. We definitely recommend Hilltop and we will be back. Say it like Arnold 🤣 I hope this helps, it's getting hard to find really exceptional places.

Tonight Sept 22,2018 I took my family to Hilltop restaurant in Willington. We entered the place at 5:35 and even as the place was hardly packed we had to stand in the lobby with 3 children for 10 minutes to be seated. At 6:04 our waitress took our orders and we waited a full hour watching 4 other parties be seated served and leave before our waitress came over to our table and said that another larger table was being catered to first was the cause for the delay in our orders. That party had come into the place much after we did and was seated in the bar area and was making a lot of noise. I had ordered a New York strip steak cooked medium, steamed broccoli and potato and my wife got a fish dinner. The bread that was served was all of the same variety but a few of the peices seamed harder almost stale-like. We didn't eat that. Finally at 7:15 our meals were served to us. In mine the potato was steamy hot but the broccoli was hardly luke warm and the streak was just seared on both sides and when cut into it was blood red and cold in the center. I waited a full 1/2 hour before our waitress came over to our table an asked if everything was alright and I told her about the vegetable and the steak. She offered to take the steak back to the kitchen and have it warmed up on the grill. I told her no as I don't have much faith in a steak that returns to the kitchen with a complaint to which she offered another serving of broccoli and I being almost hungry enough to have eaten that steak raw by then said ok. . After she left I was not going to eat the steak in its condition so I pushed the plate away from my setting and sat their while the rest of my family consumed their food. A full 1/2 hour later she came to the table with another serving of broccoli and seeing that my steak was not eaten she offered me a take home container to which I said no and to give it to her boss and have him feed it to his dogs. She offered to take 1/2 off the $23.00 (its cost). and I asked if the manager was present and that I wanted to speak to him. When the manager finally came to the table his attitude and demeanor was gutter like as he accused us of trying to take advantage of him and his business saying I was trying to cheat him out of the meal. My wife lit into him and gave him a piece of her mind. She has worked in restaurants before and the service and quality of the food were not acceptable and some kind of compensation should be given by him to which he outright told us he would do nothing more than remove my meal from the bill and then implied that we were freeloaders. We left and will never return. Later that evening my wife became ill with stomach cramps and was up most of the night holding...

I have been dining for many years now. As such I also rely upon reviews of others and this place had a 4.1. Went there about 3 weeks ago. Upon first entry I noticed a very large bar area, with a dining area separate. As in past experience when I do see a bar area that large, it usually indicates that it’s the drinkers, not the eaters that are catered to. I had already read reviews and the menu. Let’s give it a go. Myself and my lady friend ordered drinks, an appetizer each and mains. The drinks showed up quickly followed also quickly by the apps. Not 2-3 minutes later our mains showed up. We felt rushed to eat the apps as our mains were getting cold. The apps were $15 each and were ok but nothing special. When we finished with these, generally speaking a server will remove the plates and such. This did not happen, even with them pushed obviously to the end of the table. With the mains cooling, we ate away quickly on the apps. Mine main was over cooked and hidden under too much sauce. My mates’ steak was stringy, very fatty and not impressive at all. Also, of note was the lack of attention to ours and other tables which included drink glasses empty and no refills offered. On a final note, the place was not busy in the dining area with perhaps 6 tables in attendance. My final 2 cents are this meal set us back about $110. My lady friend was tempted to speak with the manager but we both felt it would be a waste of time as we do not plan on returning. Some may think this review harsh, but its 100 percent honest. To the Staff, Owner and Chef. Take the night off some day soon. Go to Mill on the River in South Windsor, for an equal amount of money spent that place has their act together 110 percent of the time and we have been there many times. We gave this place a shot as we were local to it coming down from Mass with the 4.1 review in mind. The 1 star is what it is. Out of 10? Wait Staff 2. Apps 6. Mains 5. Overall...

Ok. Those reviews bashing Hilltop food & service are downright WRONG. I have been going to Hilltop for a long time. The food is fantastic 👌😍. The service has always been superior. A long while ago the chef was not the best at cooking steaks. That has changed. You may not get your money back, but the management listens to complaints & things change for the better. You will NEVER get better bartenders. Tasha, Melissa, Jessica et.al. make great martinis to order, & will accommodate any request About PRICE. Get a grip. You can't buy seafood on your own & cook for any cheaper! Have you seen SEAFOOD prices for fresh daily wild caught scallops, shrimp, in the grocery? $20+ a lb. And come into 2019.....Hilltop prices are comparable to fine dining, & even mediocre restaurants. I remember the first time I saw $10 burgers - today, that's normal. When you go to Hilltop, you are eating at the only good food, drinks & bartender/waitstaff restaurant in the area. None of the "complainers" mentioned the HUGE PORTIONkkS for $23, & you always take a "to-go' bag - a 2nd meal!!! I've never gotten a cold meal. I can't figure out why Hilltop got 1 & 2 ** stars from a few diners. Soups excellent, Seafood superior, burgers are burgers, fries excellent & crispy, steaks - lately I see them cooked to order, Polish plates - Ah!, & Cocktails? Special martinis & mixed drinks for each Holiday or season. It doesn't get any better! And to the reviewer that couldn't understand playing cards at the bar? That's what people DO when they're comfortable! What a LAME COMPLAINT. Tend to yourself & leave happy people ALONE!!! TRY HILLTOP AGAIN. You may change your *...
