The 701 Chophouse is new to the area. Had been open about 3 weeks I believe give or take. And as everyone else we were excited to experience a new restaurant as we all know, there are not many good ones in the area. First impression as you drive up to the restaurant is that it is very nice very well designed. As you walk into the building, it puts off the impression of fine dining a proper steakhouse for the area. We were excited to be sat and to experience the restaurant. The hostess was amazing. She walked us to a booth and suggested that we tried a blueberry croissant dessert and gave us other top recommendations. I ordered a 12 ounce ribeye with asparagus as side salad and cornbread. My lady ordered the creamy coconut salmon. As an appetizer we had the blooming onion. Our waitress Cheyla B. was equally as excellent. She never let our drinks go dry, and every time we were done with utensils or plates, she was quick to remove them from the table, keeping everything spacious and clean. As for the meals. My steak was ordered, medium rare, and what I received was well done. The asparagus were cooked to perfection, and the salad was quite delicious. My steak was remade and brought out to me. The temperature was much better. as for my ladies, coconut cream salmon she enjoyed it very much and said everything was delicious. I do recommend trying this place out. I intend to go back and try again, but I would like to try something different on their diverse menu.

Overall eating at the restaurant is a nice experience you should check out! The food hits the spot for lunch or dinner, and is a nice addition to Williston’s restaurant line up. I took my parents out for lunch here today and I’m not disappointed. However, there are some improvements that could be made. We enjoyed appetizers and some soup! The giant croissant is a must try. They are baked daily and the layers melt in your mouth. The cheese dip is spot on perfect! The crab chowder is well balanced and hits the spot if you are craving a real authentic chowder, it could have used slightly more salt as no salt or pepper is provided at the bar tables. Lastly, the steak nachos are better than what you can get at most restaurants in town. They all would go great with a beer! The service was great. The staff will be a 5 out of 5 in no time as they settle in to the new restaurant. Why the atmosphere gets a 2 out of 5. It’s the exact same as the previous restaurant. It’s the same restaurant with a staff and menu change. It would be nice if something could be done with the acoustics of both the bar and dinning room, the ceilings amplify sounds to the point of hearing every detail of your neighbors conversations. I would love to see some changes to the interior to elevate the ambiance, especially the bar area. Do we really need deer mounts in the bar? This restaurant would feel more elevated with minor changes and I don’t think it would alienate the locals.

So far I love this place. Great taxidermy and environment. It’s been super packed but the wait was never more than 10min for a table. The food came out in a totally reasonable time, especially for how packed they were. The alcohol drinks took a little while but they were upfront and honest that the wait was longer than normal for bar/alcohol drinks. No problem, it’s a brand new place still working out the bugs. The food has been excellent! I’ve had the filet mignon two nights in a row, and both times it was delicious and cooked perfectly. Sides were great, and the huckleberry ice cream was excellent. Coworkers also had filets, theirs were cooked well too. Other colleagues had the tomahawk steak and the walleye which they both said were very good. I was a bit concerned with them only being open 3 days, usually restaurants take some time to find their footing, but they nailed it! Get those alcohol drink times down and you’ll be in the chips. This is my new favorite place in Williston, keep up the good work!

Been here three times. First time steak was over cooked. Ordered the cowboy Ribeye and for the price it needed to be great. Had chili as appetizer and it was great. Showed the waiter my steak which ordered as medium and it was well and was told it would be comped, then he returned and said “I went a little overboard and we can take 50% off”. Acceptable offer so I tried to make the best of it instead of having it remade.

Returned for the chili to go. I’m staying right across the parking lot. Went to my room to enjoy the chili and it was cold. Went back for a refund and was told no manager was there today and that I could leave my number and someone would call me the following day. Following day no call so I stopped in on my way home from work. Met the owner and he comped me a chili and baked potato. Cool.

Third time. The waiter appeared and seemed to be rushing us for the appetizer order after taking the drink order and I informed her that i just sat down and asked could she grab the drinks while we decide. She walks off with an attitude mumbling loud enough for us to hear her. Upon returning she says I was just giving you the energy you gave me. Unacceptable! My group tried to make light of the situation as we could see she was a young lady. We made jokes but I no longer wanted to eat at that point. When you’re spending this kind of money on meals you expect a certain level of professionalism. Not attitude because someone “felt” like your giving them attitude. Servers take drink orders, give you time to look at the menu, and answer questions you might have before “pressing” you about ordering. I felt rushed.

Then she switches our server which turned out to be her boyfriend. Our mashed potatoes were cold, the fries were cold. Sent two meals back. One was promptly warmed and I had to cancel mine because it took longer than I was comfortable with to get my food back.

This place has potential. Left a forty dollar tip for the “couple” but it was clear that these kids need to be retrained. I ordered mashed potato and asparagus with my pork leg and never got asparagus. He could have just rang it as an add on but no.

I can go on and on. The bartender took 20 minutes to make a Long Island.

I’ll go to Walt’s and cook my own steak before I...

I was visiting my daughter and she took me to this restaurant. We had to wait about 30 minutes, which was not horrible. We started out with drinks and appetizers. I asked for a blended margarita and was told the restaurant does not have a blender. WHAT??? A pricey place like this that actually has a separate bar and they don't have a blender!! My drink came in a tumbler and there was no lime wedge or any garnish other than the salted rim. I have never had a margarita without a lime wedge. The drink itself was just ok. They didn't skimp on the alcohol but the mixer or however they made it definitely needed tweaking. Another dining companion had a Moscow mule, which he described as "meh". The appetizers were good. We shared the baby back ribs and loaded potatoes. The accompanying coleslaw was unlike any coleslaw I've ever had. And not in a good way. We ordered our meal and I ordered the prime rib. It came with 2 sides so I ordered a house salad with blue cheese dressing and French fries. I was told the salad would arrive before my main meal, which was fine. We all got our orders and when the server asked if there was anything else, I had to point out that I didn't get my salad. It was brought out and I was very disappointed. It was supposed to be "mixed greens" and while technically true it was about two cups of spinach with a few leaves of something else. A couple of tiny crumbles of blue cheese were sprinkled on top along with about a teaspoon of dressing. The croutons were quite soggy. My prime rib was the best part of the whole meal. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly along with a small tub of au jus. A bit of horseradish sauce would have been nice but I didn't think to ask for it. The fries were also very good, thin cut and crispy, salted just right.

Overall the service was good and the servers were friendly, maybe just need to communicate with each other a little better.

One other note: As another reviewer mentioned the acoustics were horrible. Super loud inside and difficult to hear conversation at your own table.

I understand they have been opened only for about 2 months, so maybe they still have some kinks to work out. But please, for heaven's sake, please learn how to make good drinks and...

I have to add a new review on top of my former one. The first time we came here, it was amazing. See below. The last two times we've gone, the service has really gone downhill. Their waitstaff is going to ruin this place. We tried to order 3 different things only to be told they were out of it. Out of shrimp. Out of root beer. Out of this and that. It's not that big of a deal, but it just started us off wrong. The waitress had no idea what they were out of and kept coming back to tell us we couldnt get what we ordered. It took 40 minutes to get our appetizer, and half of our party's food came out right after, while the other half had to wait another 20 minutes. They got their steaks mixed up and gave my teenagers steak order to my little one who had ordered a child's steak. By the time they brought the child's streak out 20 minutes later, he had already eaten the other persons meal. I ordered a 9 dollar, fun drink for my son, supposed to have a sprig of rosemary and an orange slice in it for the waitress to tell us they were out of the garnish. It's not a big deal. Then, I see 2 of the exact same drinks go by with a different waitress, and they had the garnishes on them. When I asked her what was up, she went and got a manager, and he treated me like I was a little brat that was just complaining to complain. It all added up and ruined our experience. We won't be back, which is unfortunate. We really liked the food here.

-old review- This place is bougie enough to order a tomahawk steak with lobster, but down to earth enough for you to order a chili dog.

Family of 5 on a Friday night. We had about a 15-minute wait for a table. We had exemplary service from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left. The food was fantastic, our waitress was very attentive, and our bill was...
